Wow. Just…wow. Remember when I said how even the filler episodes of this show are at least good? Well this episode sure made me put my foot in my mouth. Not only was this episode entirely unnecessary, it was pointless, and pretty dumb. What happened? Let me tell you.
So the gang is heading out to get ready for Dance Road when they get stuck in traffic. Master T comes by on a motorcycle to show them a shortcut to get past said traffic. Unfortunately it’s at that time when it starts to rain heavily. Unable to see where they are going they decide to wait out the rain at a side road restaurant.
Upon arriving they are greeted by a creepy old lady who offers them pickles to eat. For some reason however Master T hates pickles and passes out when he accidentally bites into one.
When he wakes up he finds that the Tribe Cool Crew are slowly turning into vegetables because the old lady’s evil.
For the next 8ish minutes he tries to help them out but to no avail as they all turn into vegetables.
As he’s overwhelmed he wakes up and it was all a dream….shocker.
That’s basically where the episode ends.
This was an insanely short recap, mainly because this episode was STUPID. I don’t even know what they were trying to do with this episode. Every other filler has had some kind of character development. The girl who had a crush on Yuzuru, the backstory to Mizuki and Kumo, even the basketball guy episodes were all full of development. this episode. Was the point they were trying to make that….Master T doesn’t like pickles? I just….There was no point to this episode.
Nothing got developed, nobody learned anything, and 2/3 of the episode was a dream. So i’m sitting here going….Why?
The biggest thing was…it wasn’t even really enjoyable. They were trying to play this episode off as kind of a horror movie and…it wasn’t scary because I knew it wasn’t real, and it wasn’t funny because there really weren’t any jokes.
I’m not sure exactly who this episode was directed towards or why. It didn’t have the feel of any of the other episodes and felt ENTIRELY out of place. I’m actually extremely disappointed with this episode.
It’s one thing to have a fun episode where you do wacky stuff, and I’m glad to see more Master T screen time, but…..overall this episode seemed like just a big time waster.
It didn’t add a single thing, and if when showing this series to a friend, you skipped it, no one would ever be confused or miss it.
Overall, definitely the weakest episode this series has had. I’m all for fun wacky episodes, but….with a purpose.
Can we have another episode with the basketball guy?
Episode 3/10
