Eva: Anyone else crying? Because I am sobbing. MY CHILDHOOD!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT IN THE FEELS!!!!!!
Vantage: I have never Digimon, so I don’t quite understand. Eva can take my share of the feels!
Oki: ^ What Vantage said, I grew up with Pokemon and never found the channel for Digimon. Lol.
MidnightDevont: There are two Digimon series I like, Digimon Adventure and Digimon Adventure 02 so when I heard that the original cast would be coming back but older, I jumped through the roof. I can not express how much I would adore covering this. I was raised on both Pokemon and Digimon and this should be a treat!!! The only thing sad for me is that it won’t be dubbed and I won’t get the treat of hearing Mona Marshall as Izzy.
Berry: I watched Digimon as a kid, but I never watched the whole thing, and never watched the second season. I’m not sure if I’ll watch this either, but maybe.
Hideki: And so let your spirit evolve! Di-Gi-NO!
Savage: D-D-D-Digimon. Yes, extremely so. I have no idea if this will even be good, or acknowledge season 2, but I’m at mid level hype.

Eva: I always try to watch this series, but then I forget about it. OTL|||
Vantage: Wasn’t there recently a new Saint Seiya project?
Oki: I mean I like the entire concept but I’m way too out of the loop to review it.
MidnightDevont: I watched a little Saint Seiya when I was younger but not nearly enough to qualify me as knowledgeable enough for me to cover this. So I’ll keep my hands off this one.
Berry: Always wanted to get into Saint Seiya but never did. I will someday.
Hideki: Never really got into Saint Seiya. Not my thing. I’m cool with sitting this out.
Savage: Not really all that interested.

(ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
Vantage: Not my thing. But I do wonder why they didn’t call it Maji Love 3000% for the sake of consistency.
Oki: And that day Eva’s fangirl grew three times larger.
MidnightDevont: I missed season 1 and 2, i’ll step away from this.
Berry: I’M SO MAD THEY DIDN’T CALL IT MAJI LOVE 3000%? Anyway…I hate admitting that I’m excited for this stupid show. Can you actually believe I watched both seasons in about 4 days? I hate myself…
Hideki: Never Saw season 1 or 2…so….yeah…no thanks

Eva: This show looks like an insane version of Hell’s Kitchen
Vantage: I enjoy the manga, so I’m pleased to see this is getting an adaptation. It’s as shounen as it gets, but you’d think it better fits seinen at first with how erotic it is. I solemnly anticipate the orgasmic food tasting scenes. Now fully voiced and in colour!
Oki: Look unless Gordon Ramsey makes cameos I’m just not interested in it!
MidnightDevont: See the premise sounds good, the animation looks nice…but there’s ecchi in the genre and it just doesn’t click for me. No thank you on the erotic food shows.
Berry: Okay, see, THIS is the kind of cooking show I wanted. I love the art, I love the plot, I love all of it. BUT…I see ecchi as part of the show and that kinda kills it (i don’t need more erotic eating scenes). I don’t think I’m going to cover it, but I’m most likely going to watch it.
Hideki: This seems cool, but i’m frightened as the last food show I took was Koufukku Graffiti and…if it’s orgasm food faces with dudes…..i’ll REALLY pass.
Savage: Not much of a cooking fan, and not really drawn in by the art.

Eva: Okay, not gonna lie. I feel like I have been craving for something like this to come out for a long time. The first PV just hammered me with the nostalgia because it brought me back to the good old days when I was just getting into Anime. I am really looking forward to this. I HAVE THE MIGHTY NEED FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Vantage: I will probably give this a go, out of curiosity.
Oki: I actually kind of feel interested in this! If it’s longer I wouldn’t even mind sharing it. I guess it’s how good it feels to watch it, and lack cliche?
MidnightDevont: I could smell the Rumiko Takahashi on this from 20 miles away, I’m not a Lum fan, I’m not a Ranma fan, I’m not an Inuyasha fan. I can not see this work of hers being anything different for me. I’ll pass.
Berry: I think the only Rumiko Takahashi work I’ve seen is Inuyasha, and I liked it. This show sounds really fun!
Hideki: Haha, you think I’d touch another series by Rumiko Takahashi? Hahahahahaha ah…(wipes tear away) no.
Savage: I’ve also seen Takahashi’s work, and I can’t say I’m terribly interested in this show. and don’t see much unique about it.

Oki: Wait. . .it’s trigger….shit I gotta check out da mad fight scenes dou
MidnightDevont: -scratches head- Not sure what to think about this one, the animation company leads me to believe it may be good.
Berry: I’m not sure how to feel about this one, but it wouldn’t hurt to check it out.

Eva: Will check tune in by default to find out what I think of it. Hopefully it will be cool, IT LOOKS COOL- but everyone knows of the Curse Video Games Adaption…KEY: Set your expectations low!(〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜
Vantage: It does look cool. It looks very cool. But when was the last time an adaptation title ending in ‘The Animation’ ended up being good?
Oki: I mean it looks really cool but I’m not sure if it will be what I like?
MidnightDevont: It looks REALLY cool, like SUPER cool….like…some guy turned into dust in the PV and there was a girl in glasses using a futuristic computer and there was a gattling gun attached to a sword kind of cool. Also, cute looking little girl who I think I might enjoy as a character. Maybe? I’ll have to check out the first episode.
Berry: I have to look up what the game is about because the summary doesn’t say anything. Now, I know the curse of video games getting anime adaptations. They all suck. Every single one of them. And I always tell myself to stay away from them because then I’ll just get angry or confused or something, but the PV for this looked so cool and I love the art style! Here I go again.
Hideki: Saw 25 seconds of the PV. nope. don’t care
Savage: Not a big square enix fan, and not sure if this is my kind of thing, but seems interesting enough.

Eva: This is definitely something I am looking forward to seeing animated. I have followed a bit of the manga, and I am looking forward to being able to read the light novel in the future (if you haven’t already heard: Vertical Comics got the license for it). It’s a good vampire story that’s for sure, but be ready for lots of friendship angst. *SOBS*

MidnightDevont: HAHAHAHAHAA you see, I just…don’t have the kind of time it would take to catch up on everything Gintama that has come before this. That’s a lot of anime and manga to get through. So not out of it being a bad series, but sheer volume of stuff. No thanks.
Berry: Right when the new season was announced, I sat my ass down and started watching because I finally had a reason to start Gintama. I’m marathoning it right now, and I love it. I’m sure I’ll watch all 200+ episodes before April! If I could watch over 100 episodes of Hunter x Hunter in a short time, I can do the same with Gintama.

Eva: Is it Wrong to Pick Up Gigrls in a Dungeon? is actually a charming story. So trust me when I say that the summary doesn’t do justice. As I have only read the first volume, I know that it starts off on a more simple than complex note. What I can tell you is that Bell is such a lovable character, and he is not what you probably think he is. That being said I would be happy to cover this show, especially since I am sure it will feature the second volume (which only comes out late April in North America) contents.
Vantage: I have the first volume of the light novel sitting in my room. It’s still in its bubble-wrap packaging because I’ve had hardly any time to even think of reading it. Incidentally, below it is Majora’s Mask 3D, also still in it’s packaging for the same reasons. But yeah, this sounds really fun and I may be interested in blogging it!
Oki: I can’t stop laughing at this okay??
MidnightDevont: Hmmm, well, I trust Eva. Idk about covering it, but on her recommendation I might watch it.
Berry: Hmm…I dunno. Might check it out.

Vantage: Some of the stuff that went on in Angelic Howl was seriously fucked up. I can’t think of another anime series in recent memory that genuinely creeped me out like that. Grisaia tells a really good story though, so I would be happy to invest some time into it again. Maybe I can even put out episodic posts this time.

Eva: I am really excited for this show for the brass music. We have seen plenty of guitars, piano/keyboard, drums and violins, but what about the awesome brass instruments? About time they get the chance to shine! Also seriously, how refreshing is it to have a BRASS BAND instead of the same old music club trope?
Vantage: I like KyoAni. I’ve watched everything they’ve produced in recent years, even Free!. So I’ll be following this with earnest, but I’m not sure if it’s something I’d blog. Maybe.
Oki: Da school girl is strong with this one boyz.
MidnightDevont: The last music school show I watched as K-on and I was totally underwhelmed by it. I just don’t think this genre is my thing, hopefully this show will have more actual music playing then K-on did.
Berry: I really don’t like Kyoani. I don’t. Except for Free! But! This sounds so nice. It’s about brass instruments, so finally we have something different. The girls actually look different from other Kyoani girls, so that’s another plus. You know what? I’m actually gonna try this out.

BUT HERE WE HAVE IT! THEY FINALLY GOT IT! I’ll tune in since I haven’t read the manga yet and see whether or not I’ll like it.

Vantage: Holy crap, the hype is back. I really want to cover it, but do I have time…? I feel like I’ve already signed up for every sequel of something that’s recently aired and their dog. Sleep? What’s that?
Oki: It looks awesome too bad I never saw season one l e l
MidnightDevont: This is another one of those shows where i go “Second season? I didn’t even hear of the first one.” so, that shows how much I know. Also, Mecha…eeewww.
Berry: I’ve also heard great things about this show. I don’t like the all CG animation, but since I’ve heard good things, I might watch the first season some day.
Hideki: Nah. Didn’t see season 1.
Savage: Never saw season 1, not a big mecha fan,no thanks.

Overall Thoughts
Eva: Safe to say I will be tuning in for the majority of the titles Spring 2015 Season has to offer. There are a handful of titles that I absolutely want to cover, but… I am in a pinch. I can’t cover six, eight shows like I used to in the good old days, and with me carrying over two titles it forces me to to cap my options to worse case scenerio: one title. But I will try my best to cover two titles… three might be stretching it as I haven’t been in the greatest condition for the past few weeks. Nevertheless here are my top five picks of most potiential to cover! Uta no Prince Sama – Maji Love Revolutions (S3), Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka?, Baby Steps S2, Plastic Memories, Houkago no Pleiades, Show By Rock!! Hopefully with enough rest through March, I will be in better form to pick up at least two more shows.
Vantage: Kiniro Mosaic is great. Kiniro Mosaic will air in Spring 2015. Therefore, it follows that Spring 2015 will be great. And just imagine, we’ll be getting Aria, Non Non Biyori and Gochiusa as well later this year! 2015 is a great year to be an iyashikei fan. Okay, on a serious note this season looks quite good. My interest in new series hinges on slice-of-life and cute stuff as per usual, but I am hyped for Owari no Seraph and Plastic Memories. I think they’re the ones to watch out for. As for blogging, I’m mostly in for either sequels or stuff I’m already familiar with, again as per usual. But sadly I am in an identical situation to Eva. I have nothing carrying over, but I can’t cover as many shows as I used to. My priority will be Nanoha, but I am pretty interested in Shokugeki no Soma, Grisaia, Oregairu, Plastic Memories and Houkago no Pleiades as well. Let’s see what the airing schedule will look like.
Oki: There is a lot of hype around this season and to be honest, it’s really a matter of ‘what do I enjoy the most’ for what I might shotgun. So many of these shows are really good and really interesting that we all seem to be down for them, and I actually had to take my name off of a few just to get the right amount of shows. The way it looks it seems like we all want to cover a lot of the same stuff, so this will either end in us compromising or the most gigantic co covering season in all of history. Who knows? It could happen! Either way it’s going to be a collectively busy season with a lot of different and very good ideas to back it up. Personally I really want Ore Monogatari!! and I’m eyeing some of the darker shows heavily. So far, I might end up only solely covering Sailor Moon’s continuation and Ghost in the Shell, but maybe I’ll get something of my own too. Psyched!
MidnightDevont: This is an up and down season for me there’s a lot of stuff that looks REALLY GOOD, but i’m also saying goodbye to so many series that I’ve come to love over the Winter season. I’ll have Assassination Classroom still, so there is that! There is some stuff I am really hyped for! Plastic Memories looks like it’s going to be one heck of an emotional trip. ALL ABOARD THE HYPE FOR DIGIMON TRI! I have been so hyped for this ever since I heard whispers that it was going to be a thing. I loved Adventure 01 as a kid and seeing the old crew back and grown up is just the kind of thing I am looking forward too. Let’s see, well there’s Fate/Stay: unlimited Blade Works and I can’t wait for that and a bunch of other tiles. Looks like a solid season this Spring.
Berry: After a crappy Winter season, Spring is looking fantastic. There’s a lot of shows that I want to watch, or at least check out the first episode of. And I think this is the most I’ve signed up to blog so far. But I’m always wary about what I pick because I always have to take into account how busy my classes will be in university. I have Jojo and Assassination Classroom carrying over, so I’ll have to decide which ones I want to really take. The ones I’d like to blog would be Gintama (2015), Ore Monogatari!!, and Hibike! Euphonium. But since I’m sharing Assassination Classroom, I could probably take up one more, which might be Pri Para. And if I’m really crazy, also Kyoukai no Rinne. So those are my five, with the other shows I also put my name under as possibilities. But yeah it’s basically how my classes are going to be, so I’m going to have to think about it a lot. But there’s a lot of hype this season and a lot of great looking shows, so this season looks like it’s going to be great.
Hideki: There seems to be a LOT of middle school moe this season. And honestly, there’s only so much I can take. There seems to be a few fun shows this season like the one about the big guy romance and the weird teacher, but overall there’s too much sugar. The two shows that I’m giving the old shot in the dark are Triage X and Vampire Holmes. Then again, this season has a much better selection and diversity then winter. Of course, most of these series could be bad…but you never know. Overall, much more excited for this season.
Savage: So much sugary moe moe moe moe shows. Like, there’s so many of those, or shows about girls who can see ghosts. I must say, this season had a good deal of variety, even as it tends to more light sugary stuff. Of course, there’s huge amount of sequels, second seasons, and the like. My definite’s are naturally Fate/Stay Night with Midnight, and I want to cover Digimon Tri with the others who do, since I did grow up with the old show and this could be great. As for my solo series, the one I have most confidence in is Arslan Senki, but that depends on how well it pulls off its admittedly badass premise. The other shows I’ll check out and might pick up if they are good enough and noone wants them are Owari no Seraph, Kekkai Sensen, and Vampire Holmes. As you can tell, sugary sweet and easygoing aren’t exactly my style. Bring on the adventure, wars, superpowers, vampires, and epic story lines please.^^
Huzzah for Spring Review! Love all the team’s comments as usual. 🙂
I can’t tell you how excited I was to see Digimon at the top of this list. In middle school I gained a friend who was really into Pokemon and Digimon. I didn’t watch either show on my own, but once I became friends with her it was something we could watch together. No lie, as soon as I read the show’s synopsis in this article, I frantically sent her links to the preview and summary, telling her we had to watch it together. (Seasons 1 & 2 were the only ones I watched in the series, as they are also my favourites and honestly the show got kinda redundant after that). I cannot wait until the show starts and I can read the weekly reviews!
I’m also curious to see what Plastic Memories will be like too.
About Yamada….I wouldn’t really play it off as 100% cliche, because the summary sure paints it that way. Hell, there’s more powers than just body swapping; as shown in the PV, the guys get kissed just as much as the girls are; heck, even a guy is included in harem; Despite the initial harem feel, there is indeed an endgame girl he ends up with. Well there’s just the little things that make it not step into the cliche territory and there is a plot…kind of, sort of (its not like just a standard slice-off life with them not doing anything about it, they actually go and attempt to get rid of the curse). While it does have fan service moments, it doesn’t dwelve into the ecchi area….so I have no idea where the F that ecchi tag came from unless the anime decides to up the occasional fanservice. All I can say is that its an actually amusing manga as someone who has read all of it up-to-date and its not like I’m here to convince anyone to actually watch it, I’m just trying not to make it sound like the next coming of a plague like some have already. Only real issue I actually I have with it is that it suffers from Bleach-syndrome (the manga should have ended after the first curse arc like how Bleach probably should have ended after Ichigo lost his powers/or got them back after the Fullbringers), but even still the new stuff is enjoyable.
Along with the fact that only 3…3 1/2 of the 7 girls on the cover actually are included in his harem: two have no interest in him; another barely knows him and has no interest/rather be a friend; and another one would rather see him pair up with his male harem member (along with a horrible promotional poster as not only it spoils all the witches identities but also the top two aren’t even that relevant for most of it. I’d rather see them replaced with Miyamura and Itou/Tsubaki)
OH MY GOD OWARI NO SERAPH LOOKS REALLY GOOD PLUS MUSIC PRODUCER IS HIROYUKI SAWANO SO THAT’S DEF ON MY LIST.
Also wow Yamada-kun gets an anime? And I wasn’t aware?? (also yeah I’m p hyped bc the mangaka for it worked alongside Hiro Mashima)
Seems like a lot of the anime this season are from mangas that I’ve read and loved which is hella great of course.
Surprisingly there’s a lot I’m going to shotgun this season unlike Winter? And if first impressions are awesome I’ll probably have a really long list of to-watch anime this is quite exciting!
(HYPE FOR MIKAGURA HOHOHOHOHO)
Oh, Digimon, my old friend. This season have a lot of stuff like to watch, but i still saving my hype for the epic adaptation of One punch man.
FEEL YOU BRO. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT ONE PUNCH MAN WOULD STAY AS A MANGA FOREVER BUT AW YISSS GOD IS REAL
I was schocked to see Digimon here. Season 1 was my childhood, along with part of season 2 (I never saw the whole thing). But I don’t know… after all this time can something that comes out for it still capture the magic?
Anyway, Nanoha Vivid and Kiniro Mosaic are locks for me. I’ll be seeing Vantage there, it looks like.
I’m screaming as I look through the season preview tbh. So many good titles coming out this season. Been screaming since they announced that new Digimon. Sad that I have school and can’t cover anything but I’m still so excited C:
My picks for the season: Digimon (HOLY SHIT. LITERALLY MY CHILDHOOD. I STILL HAVE MY OLD DIGIVICE), Utapri (syo best boy), Ore Monogatari (TWO COURS! HOLY SHIT! BEST MANGA EVER), MORE Teekyu (how am I the only person to love this series, it baffles me), BBB (Rie Matsumoto!!!), Arslan Senki, Baby Steps 2…….christ so many shows ;A;
There are also those I’m on the fence abt, like Daiya 2 (I love it, but it’s kind of tiring to watch honestly), Punchline, Ninja Slayer (lol trigger pls), Hibike (Naoko Yamada!!! but also another k-on ripoff idk???) and Shokugeki No Soma……
AND TO HIDEKI AND SAVAGE: pls watch baby Steps and join the cult. It’s so, so good and is totally not Prince of Tennis….it’s got a fantastic protagonist, excellent pacing, a down to earth, realistic, but still satisfying narrative….it’s so good. and season 2 adapts my favorite arc in the manga so that’s a plus!!!
apologies for going completely off the rails w. also i’ll regularly post comments on Baby Steps & Ore Monogatari posts in particular to show my support!! would love to see Vantage’s take on baby steps too 🙂
I think one of you guys should look into Mikagura, they just released a promo video and it looks kinda good imo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bENv_RyOFGw
Thanks for linking the Promo, I have added it to the list. I usually watch most of the premieres each season (unless it’s horror) so I look forward to seeing what it will be like since I can’t figure out how I feel about Mikaguara yet. XD
I’m actually really, really excited for this season! It looks really promising (even with the usual ecchi/harem shit)!
THIS SPRING SEASON SOUNDS REALLY PROMISING! I’m super excited for it and there are a lot of series I have been eagerly awaiting for awhile (Shokugeki no Soma, Nisekoi:, danna ga nani wo itteiru ka wakaranai ken 2, oregairu second season, DanMachi, Hibike euphonium, and Kyoukai no Kanata Movie) and Plastic Memories and Ore Monogatari also look amazing. I’ll probably also check out etotama, kyoukai no rinne, houkago no Pleiades, Ren-Kan, Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku, and maybe even Yamadakun to Nananin no Majo. Wow that’s possibly 16 anime… With these many shows at least half of them should be good, right? I have high hopes for this season:)
Hope someone has a look at mikagura, I loved it and le characters!
#dontfaillikekagepro
Re-kan… Fascinating. Very fascinating. I was pleasantly surprised that it has full length episodes too! All in all, yet another show that I was really looking forward to this season that left me uplifted 🙂 I’m looking forward to your thoughts, both MidnightDevont and Berry!
