The best way to describe this weeks’ episode is: Simply Sweet. It was time for the Sports Festival and Haruka managed to get into the Tennis group as she had hoped. She is paired with a boy in her class named Yuuki who was actually the kid who made fun of her dream to become a princess. It started off quite entertaining because neither of them had recognized each other despite the fact they have been in the same class the entire time and known each other in the past. Yuuki has shown that he had matured more since his childish antics and didn’t make fun of Haruka when she accidentally blurted out her reason for wanting to play tennis despite having no experience. Instead, what fueled the tension between them was her lack of experience and his desire to win. Haruka was furious when he rejected her request to teach her a bit, topped off with telling her just to stand there while he takes care of all the shots. What I loved about Haruka’s response was like, “Screw it! I’ll find someone else to teach me and I’ll make you eat your words!” She turns to Miss Shamour to teach her tennis, who admired her passion and was more than happy to help her out. Unlike last week’s episode, Miss Shamour wasn’t behaving all smug. I enjoyed seeing her sweeter side of teaching her the game.
As expected, Yuuki’s dream is to become a professional tennis player. When Haruka realized that, her grudge subsided and came to respect the time and effort Yuuki was putting towards his dream. So when Shut showed up in the middle of the match and locked away Yuuki’s dream, Haruka- knowing how it feels for one’s dream to be trampled on, makes it her mission to protect them. And that’s what I love about her. Haruka cherishes and respects everyone’s dreams, regardless of being teased about her own. What made the episode sweeter was Yuuki seeing Cure Flora and because of that tells Haruka that he believes her dream may actually come true and praises her for her efforts. It would be nice to see their friendship develop just because their dynamic together was fun to watch, but I won’t hope for it since they are primarily focusing on Haruka working hard to become a princess. I am sure all these qualities during these types of episodes will be important later on when it’s time to choose the Grand Princess.
I could do without anymore Yuuki, thanks. The fewer males in my Precure series, the better. :p
No, There has to be more males in the show. Kiara and Minami still needs to be shipped (it’s a prob of mine) with someone!!!
We have Karuka at the moment…….. 😛
*ships Kirara and Minami together* Problem solved! 😛
All precures should focus on each other in a yuriesque fashion to the exclusion of any other possible romances. As such, males are not needed. 😛
