After another week of disappointing crap happens in terms of my shows. It’s times like these that I am happy that I have Yoru No Yatterman. This series has become my oasis in a sea of meh this season. Welp, enough dick sucking, let’s get to the episode recap.

So after last episode we learn that the group is completely out of  money. Luckily for them it turns out that the guy who can sew can..well…sew and gets some food for making baby clothes for an expectant mother.

It’s then that the yattermen show up to take the husband for 35 years of forced labor. Why? I don’t know. it’s a dystopian future. just deal with it. But i have to say, I’ve seen a lot of “Taking people away” dystopian future stuff and this is the first time that i’ve seen the people so fucking whipped that they CHEER when they’re taken away. Like…daym guys. daymn.

Not gonna lie. That shit be fucked up

Leopard sees this go down and she isn’t one to let it happen without a fight. So when the yatterman rest for a bit, she and the rest of the doronjo rush in, grab him and run away.

(as seen here, the doronjo being epic)

They take him to a cave where he meets up with his wife. Unfortunately the Yatterman are hot on their trail. This is when we’re introduced to what is likely one of our recurring main villains. I do not remember his name, so I shall call him “Sir Douche a lot”.

Unable to believe in the Doronjo, the husband thinks the only way to get out of working 35 years of hard labor is to turn over them to Sir douche a lot.

He finds them due to his betrayal and they get into a giant mech battle, which, the doronjo surprisingly lose. Thinking they’re dead, sir douche a lot, get this, renegs on his deal and sends him off to work for 35 years. DIDN’T SEE THAT ONE COMING! To be fair though, to be fair….he kind of deserved it.

To be fair.you and the pregnant bee lady deserve it. seriously. what is with her fucking hair?

Unfortunately due to doronjo having their ass beat they can’t help him and he’s taken away. Unbeknownst to her of his treachery, Leopard is incredibly saddened she can’t save him and reaffirms her hatred of the Yatterman and how she won’t give up until they’re forehead flicked.

And that’s basically where the episode ends.

There was a lot of good stuff in this episode. As well as stuff actually happening. One thing I forgot to mention in the recap is a short little part where the girls go to take a hot spring bath and the guys try to spy on the blind girl taking a bath. however it does not end well.

It’s not a scene that’s important to the plot, but it is pretty cute. Unlike other scenes where this trope is done, it’s there, and then over and forgotten in a quick moment, and not dwelled upon.

This episode has some interesting things happen in it. One of the things we learn is just how desperate the people under Yatterman control are. It has been ingrained since birth that these people are to go with whatever the Yatterman say, even to the point of cheering when someone they love is taken away basically forever. It’s actually a very morbid thing, but it really goes well with showing the futility of this world they live in.

The Doronjo in this episode are a symbol of hope that the people of this country are not willing to accept yet. It’s as if the people don’t believe in anything anymore. It will take a lot of work for the Doronjo to bring back hope, let along peace.

Every single episode I see these guys I am just in love with them. Boroyacky is always hilarious, the big guy is great, and Leopard always puts a smile on my face.

It’s good to see that we have some sort of face to go with the villainous side of the Yatterman even though it’s obvious he’s not really the big cheese. Still, it was cool to see him 1 v 1 the big guy. That in itself was pretty neat.

As we’re still early in the show we’re still seeing the dark side of the world and haven’t quite reached the hope that this group will bring. Still, great episode overall. Even though the guy who betrayed them is a douche…just like his friend SIR douche a lot!

Overall, good stuff.

Episode 7/10

People cheering when their loved ones are taken away is actually based on our history: during WW2, the Japanese government forced the men into military service and everyone around them was forced to cheer because that is “such an honor”.
