Finally, at long last, the children’s journey has come to an end. No offense to them, but I’m kind of glad. They brought up some good things to keep in mind, but they took so long to do that and I became really bored. For this episode, I wasn’t so bored as the conflict of war rising becoming more probable. But that also worries me because there’s only four more episodes left, and there’s only so much you can do in that time, especially with such a slow pace as Log Horizon is known for. I know there’s a lot of novels, so they’re probably going to make another season to continue the story.
Well, the group parts ways as they prepare to leave. Roe 2 leaves first after leaving a letter in Minori’s hands, telling her to give it to her “brother”, which is Shiroe. And she leaves, with us wondering who exactly she is. “Dariella” leaves next, and returns to the train as Nureha.
The kids notice just how in terrible condition the town is, and they want to stay and help, but Rudy keeps making up excuses so they can pack up and leave. We later find out that the People of the Land were upset with the adventurers for not protecting them more. Isuzu hears this and becomes a little upset. She also hopes that her song wasn’t in vain. As the newbies leave, walking this time because they don’t have a summoning whistle anymore, they overhear singing. They overhear some children at their home singing Isuzu’s song, and the rest of the people working in town. Thankfully, the song wasn’t in vain and is now a song of hope for them.
Strange things are happening in Akihabara. As Naotsugu, Akatsuki, and Tetra go out and look for food (I really missed them), Naotsugu brings up how many apathetic people are in the city. It was like that the first time they came to this world, but now it’s happening again. Nothing serious has happened yet, but the growing numbers of these people are suspicious.
There was also a weird situation from this guy called a “genius of marriage”, seducing girls with some weird hypnotic ability and leading them away to who knows where. The West Wind Brigade go after the guy when one of their girls gets kidnapped. One of them punches him and the guy puts her into a hypnotic state. Soujirou appears and tells them to be careful and confronts the man, the genius guy asking Sou to be his bride. To which the girls beat him up for asking him that.
Shiroe is also worrying about the threat of war. Adventurers that can’t adapt to this world are angry, and want to fight the others. It would make sense for the People of the Land to wage a war against the adventurers, but adventurers fighting each other? It’s a really bad situation, and he’s having some trouble thinking about this. I don’t know what war would do exactly, because for those that can’t adapt to the world, it’s not like war is going to make things better for them. It’s just going to make it worse for everybody.
Well, the newbies come home and everyone’s happy. We end the episode with Shiroe about to open the letter from Roe 2. Which makes me mad because that’s the part I wanted to see. Honestly, just who is she? This was a good episode. One arc finishes and we’re about to jump in to another, which seems more exciting to me, so I hope these last episodes of this season will end strongly.
I could tell you WHAT Roe2 is, but it wouldn’t really shed much light on how she knows things she knows.
