I don’t remember the last time we got a Joseph-centered episode. Though I don’t blame them for keeping him more in the background, since Joseph got all of his screentime in Battle Tendency. He’s still just as fun as a grandpa.
Kakyoin is still in the hospital, and it seems like he’s in good shape. The doctor scares him and says he has to keep him in the hospital longer, but says he’s kidding because the Speedwagon Foundation has come to treat Kakyoin. With their advanced medical tools, Kakyoin should be treated much faster. Hurray!
Our group reaches the historical city of Luxor. Joseph is off finding a toilet with Iggy by his side while the other boys wait for him. Joseph finds a toilet outside, but…it’s just a hole.
Anyway, it really sucks and he freaks out so he leaves. Right outside, there’s a giant rock with an outlet, so Joseph thinks it’s weird that there’s electricity in the middle of the desert. Also, it’s weird that there’s AN OUTLET ON A ROCK. HELLO? So he touches it and gets electrocuted pretty bad. Avdol finds him and Joseph decides to ignore it. They stop somewhere to drink some sodas and decide to stay in Luxor for a couple days because they’re all injured and need time to rest, even though they’re only two days away from Cairo. They leave, and during this time the bottle caps from the soda bottles have stuck to Joseph’s back, and the radio from the shack went back to normal when they left. The bottle opener slowly dragged off the table and slowly trailed after him. And Joseph’s prosthetic hand, which is made of metal, started acting up. It’s made more obvious later but we can easily deduce that Joseph
has turned into a magnet! *dun dun dunnn*
So they head to a hotel, Joseph wakes up the next morning with his bed pointing north instead of south, like a compass. The guys are waiting for Joseph to get ready so they can eat breakfast, but Joseph is noting how strange things are. His watch stopped, the metal of a rolling chair kept sticking to him, the metal of his door smacked his head, and what’s worse is that he’s attracting the metal from women’s skirts.
Joseph’s running around, getting chased by knives and forks from food carts, and he’s finally figured out what’s wrong with him. He runs to the escalator and finds himself sticking to it. Suddenly, metal beads attached to strings tangle up around him, and he calls to the woman in front to press the emergency button to stop the escalator so he won’t be sliced to bits, but of course…
She’s the Stand user. Her name is Mariah, and her Stand is Bastet. She leaves him there, and Joseph is freaking out. He tries using Hermit Purple to reach the button but he can’t and starts screaming. Avdol luckily comes around and presses the emergency button, which was on the side, and Joseph makes a scene. He explains everything to Avdol and they chase after the woman. Unfortunately, she ran into the women’s restroom. But with his life on the line, Joseph and Avdol decide to go in even though they’re extremely nervous. Most of the stalls are occupied, so to find her, they have to look at the legs to find her out. And how do they know which legs are the girls’?
Awesome, great. Well Avdol is looking down in the stalls and finds her legs. Except it’s not Mariah, it’s the same old lady that got turned on when Joseph lifted her dress earlier. Apparently she has great legs. The rest of the women in the restroom scream so the guys jump out the window and make a run for it. They find Mariah up ahead and run after her (they only recognize her clothes they haven’t seen her face). Joseph explains to Avdol not to touch an outlet if he sees one, but Avdol actually already did. There was the same outlet next to the emergency button earlier, and he accidentally touched it and shocked himself. Avdol’s a magnet too, and he and Joseph smush together as they run.
Even though Mariah hasn’t actually attacked them with force, she’s put them in quite the predicament. As usual, Joseph had me laughing like he always does. He’s still just as cool and fun even when he’s old. I thought this was a great episode, and it was fun. I don’t think the second part will be action-packed like last week since Mariah uses gimmicks instead, but it looks like it’ll be a blast. Also, Mariah is super pretty. Joseph is right, she does have great legs. I mean they gave us a lot of ass shots too.
