Cross Ange: Tenshi to Ryuu no Rondo Episode 15 [ True Earth ]

This week is a doozy as we finally get some answers about the plot, Tusk and Ange have been taken to the headquarters of women with draconic characteristics.What is the ‘True Earth’ and what is the truth of Embryo? Well, shit.

This episode marks the return of bitch! Ange. I guess it is too soon to hope she’ll be more demure and considerate, as once she is introduced into the fray she goes back to being her normal self. It’s easier to understand her hesitation once they meet a woman we saw before: The woman piloting the machine that destroyed half of Arzenal, Lieutenant Salamandinay. Wow, when I first saw this character I guess I really did not expect the gross overly emphasized 5 syllable name. Holy crap. Did, did they really? Go there? 5 FREAKING SYLLABLES.

We learn that there is a very important reason for all the wars before: A particle was discovered known as Dracunium. This particle could have been humanity’s salvation, but instead it was immediately used for war. The result was the near destruction of the world, but some humans could not accept it. Some chose to change their bodies in order to restore the world to what it was – they became DRAGONs. Yes, humans really ARE DRAGONs and vice versa. As it turns out, the large powerful DRAGONs are all men- who become huge creatures that can take in the Dracunium that’s poisoned the earth and change it into a purer substance.

Of course this means that Tusk becomes an immediate fascination and they basically imply kind of gross things- Ange finds him naked being poked prodded and stared at, and they ‘thank him’ did…did they kind of rape Tusk for his DNA? I’m not sure, hopefully they just rigorously molested him. . I should not be saying that, but of course Ange can’t be considerate or loving in these moments as Tusk obviously seems freaked out. What was finally epic was Tusk. . .well. . .Tusk….got TUSK’ed….Ange falls onto HIS crotch and it seems to be a more..pleasant landing…ehehe….ehehehe…

But the real clincher is when we learn the truth. The first human that became a DRAGON was a man who was called ‘Aura’. He was an amazingly powerful DRAGON that helped purify Dracunium and bring peace. But then something happened, and it has to do with the truth of Ange’s world. There are two Earths- and when one was destroyed, many fled to this other Earth for sanctuary. But one man ensured what the world would become, a world with magic and harmony, when he captured Aura and used him as a source for all mana. This man was Embryo. Yes,in truth, Aura and his Dracunium storage are what bring Mana into existence, and Embryo manipulates it more than anyone else.

The true horror is that this power is not truly infinite- the war is finally explained. The fuel the light of mana and provide a true paradise, a ‘utopia’, dragons must be captured and their stomachs opened and harvested for the Dracunium they contain. This is then given to Aura, who continues to be used as a circuit. The citizens of the original Earth are killed and harvested and thus the war rages on, the DRAGON humans cannot simply accept their friends and family being taken and killed.

That’s right people. In Cross Ange the magic they use is literally fueled by. . . murdering the good people of the original Earth who were trying to save it. What does this mean? Dracunium is the true source of the ‘light of mana’ and the reason why Embryo could create the Ragna-Mail and use his powers to such an absurd extent. He became ‘god’ by harvesting this power and simply chooses to rewrite the world continuously until it suits his perfect image, and he can play as much as he likes.

Well holy fucking shit Cross Ange. You’ve got me. I love your plot, your story draws me in, and you’ve even fucking explained why people turned into fucking DRAGONs. You believably explained the situation as to why people would becoming FUCKING FLYING MONSTERS and made me LIKE THEM MORE THAN THE FAKE HUMANS WHO WOULD ABANDON THEIR PLANET AND ARE THE PAWNS OF A MONSTER. I wanted to punch Ange for saying ‘it’s still my world’ HELP THE DRAGONS GIRL SHIT. Where is this going to lead? It’s a good question. Hopefully the glances of good!Ange we see in this episode are coming to stay and her harshness is leaving, but it might be a slow progress. All I know is that every week I lose my shit at this show.

Vivian’s mother is actually a dragon?! Humans became draganoid?! THERE IS A WOMAN WHO HAS 5 SYLLABLES IN THE NAME AND SHE CAN KICK ANGE’S ASS WITH LITTLE TO NO EFFORT?? FINALLY SOMEONE CAN DO THAT?!! WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING TO HAPPEN?!! I AM LOSING MY FUCKING SHIT!  Next week it seems battle will occur in the True Earth. . . we can only shudder in expectation.
