Now I know what you’re all thinking. “Hideki. You obviously hate this show. Why in god’s name are you STILL reviewing this piece of garbage?” and the answer is, because i’m insane.
Good, now that that’s out of the way, let’s begin.
So the episode starts out with the mustache guy attacking Tigre’s army. One of his scouts reports all the locations and where the enemy is. The only place they say that no one would attack from is here.
So guess where they attack from?

Look. Show. I know you’re trying to tell us that Tigre’s/Lourie are good at military planning and some shit, but just telling us “Oh, there’s no one on this mountain and they couldn’t attack from there” and then all of a sudden having them appear on that mountain and attacking ISN’T good writing. It’s obvious and stupid.
Anyway, so Tigre’s army has the upperhand, but Genie mustache guy has more soldiers. Slowly Tigre’s army gets tired.
So reinforcements show up
and then MORE reinforcements show up
Damn guy. Your scouting party must SUCK if you couldn’t see the MULTIPLE ARMY OF REINFORCEMENTS THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE.
Once again, this isn’t cool or clever, it’s stupid.
At this point every single person is coming to Tigre’s aid because he is said Super special snowflake.
So how is this supposed legendary general that overcame ridiculous odds every time to win despite his numbers? A man who could win in a battle 10 to 1 and now OUTNUMBERS Tigre’s army? What masterful plan will he unleash possibly killing a war maiden in the process?
OH GOD FUCKING DAMNIT!
That’s a HUGE glaring problem with this show. They bring in these plot devices that are supposedly unbeatable and they talk these fucking things UP.
Roland, the dragons, this guy, they talk them up like they’re the greatest things ever. Then they come up against Immortal Tigre & Co and they SUCK. Not just regular suck but REALLY suck.
There is NO tension, NO reason to care as we know Tigre & Co are just going to basically fuck everyone’s day up. The only way i’d actually respect this show a TINY bit is if Tigre or Elen died at the end. But they won’t, because Tigre is a fucking gary stuflake.
After the battle there’s a scene with Lourie with Tigre where he falls asleep on her and she falls asleep too.
See, this would be a cute scene, if I didn’t HATE TIGRE WITH EVERYTHING THAT I AM.
Tigre is literally the personification of what’s wrong with anime. And i hate him for it. And I always will.
Oh yeah, then Elen shows up and is a bitch. Cause that’s what she does best.
Then everybody talks about how wonderful he is and blah blah blah
The episode ends with Tigre apologizing for letting so many of her soldiers die. She responds with basically “Lol, np.”
This show. god this show.
See, the thing with this show is, normally you can say “oh, somewhere deep inside there’s good show.” The problem is, that’s not the case with this. Somewhere deep inside is a PASSABLE show. But you’d have to get rid of Tigre .That’s the first thing. He is just by far the worst thing in this show. Without him, this show has a chance of being PASSABLE.
But on the other hand, it’s generic and flawed from the word “Go”. There’s nothing to make this show epic or original, it’s just a shameless show that doesn’t even do the job it’s supposed to.
The only job it succeeds at is making me hate Tigre. So…good job?
I have no idea who he’s fighting or why as his enemies change at the drop of a hat because he keeps killing all of them and new people are pissed at him. I can’t and don’t care to keep up with it. All you have to know it, triple arrow mcgee will kill everyone and fuck all the girls.
The only passable character in this whole show is Lourie. and that’s because she’s the only one with any kind of development, personality, or you know, being a human being. And I don’t WANT her to be with the main character. I want her to be free from Tigre’s bullshit. In fact, she shouldn’t even BE in this show. She deserves to be in a much better one. Because right now she’s the beacon of light in a pile of crap.
The only thing I’m still doing this show is that I’ve made it this far. I’m at episode 10. It’s also not carrying over to next season so I only have a few more to go. I can do it. I’m almost there.
Until then, I know you’re surprised to hear this, but Vanadis still sucks.
