What’s better than coercing your humiliated and shamed sister to come back and hurt her? Whip her publicly and shame her in front of all the citizens! Even better, why not execute her publicly? Because that’s how honorable humans behave.
This episode just made me feel such rage, and you know what? Finally I can say this: the main character and the viewer finally feel the same emotions. It took ten episodes but now I can honestly say that everything Ange feels? I feel as well. I am disgusted by the people in her life, disgusted by the life she endures, and hope honestly she and Hilda burn the world to the ground.
Ange is disgusted by it all, they’re going to kill her. Her handicapped sister whips her and all of her previous friends demand she die for inconveniencing them and ruining their memories. “Give them back!” they say. They could not wish it more than me. Ange is so discussed she begins to sing the song her mother once sang her, and her sister tells her to stop ruining it. Yet all is not so simple, she sings it until she is in the noose. The song has a powerful, beautiful meaning: I will survive. The first episode now resonates heavily. Fight, and survive.
But as she is hung, Tusk saves her. He cuts down her noose and saves her, of course it’s ruined when he lands in her crotch yet again and she has to save him alongside Momoka. They escape, but Tusk reveals something: He got back the ring Julio took from her. Probably one of the best moments of the episode was watching Momoka be proud that Ange finally has a boyfriend. It’s hard to remember there are good humans until Momoka opens her mouth. But you know what that reveals?
That it’s not so simple as brainwashing. Momoka still loves Ange even when she has no reason to, even when she hears it all. Everyone else? They’re just monsters who do not know love at all. The funny thing is I think this society will make this out to be they’re all the victims and brainwashed somehow, but you know what? Fuck em. I hope they all die. The best burn ever is delved to Sylvia “Thank you sister, you showed me the true filthy nature of human beings.” It was well deserved. If the preview shows anything it shows this depressed her.
Good. Just good.
And I want to punch some of these Norma, too. I don’t hate them, I’m just mad at them. They don’t understand what Hilda and Ange do as they’re locked away for a week as punishment. They don’t know what it’s like to be loved until one simple aspect of you is revealed. They don’t know what it’s like to be loved until you’re revealed to be bad because you were born. Ange and Hilda are in my top three together now because their lives suck. They are officially redeemed to me because who wouldn’t lash out and be disgusting. You guys thought Ange was bad in the beginning? No, she’s JUST LIKE THEY ALL WERE! All of them are this way! Ange learned, Ange changed, and she lived, and none of these stupid fuckers are. I’m so angry!
But you know what? Bravo. I want to see the rest. I have a suspicion that Julio and Sylvia are pawns, but part of me hopes they’ll burn along with the real villains. Let’s learn the truth everyone. And hope humanity burns with it.
Oki
This episode was amazing, we got to see Ange sing a couple of times, proving that every
DisneySunrise princess have integrated a Surround Speaker System. Ange learned a couple of things and Rito Yamato being the brave and wise man he is, give us a vital piece of information about Ange pubis, not without complimenting her first, of course.Momoka and Hilda, were amazing too, but I have to say that the part I like the most, was the behaviour of the rest of the squad. I can’t blame them for act like that, they are young girls that feel betrayed, come on, none of that girls like being on the verge of death every fucking day, as Ersha said, some of they have been in ArzenaL since they were babies, they have never known family affection, they only source of “affection” is the rest of their squad. Probably all of them wanted to escape, of at least know that Hilda and Ange trust them enough to share their plans with them. I really like Chris has been developing, she seems pretty clever and really want a source of love, that’s why she wanted to share the prize with the others, and that’s the reason why she ask Rosalie to not abandon her, I think all of them feel desperate and alone, and that’s the cause some of them fell prey of Zola.
Plus: That scream from
ClovisJulio was the manliest scream ever.I loved the end of the episode, when Ange said to Hilda, “Then let’s destroy this bullshit world.” Finally they agreed on something! I think maybe that scene was the introduction into the main plot of the anime. Hopefully Ange and Hilda will go for revenge against the Mana-users. A few episodes ago I would’ve said the Mana-users didn’t deserve it, but the last couple episode completely changed my mind. Like Ange said, they’re pigs.
I can’t wait for when Ange and Hilda start carrying out their plans of world destruction. DIE MANA BITCHES! DIE! Also Hilda is best girl.
The irony of Ange realising the depth of hatred towards Norma is that she did not realise she was just like them. The flashback did not include the baby she condemned to Arzenal. So she still has the genocidal tendencies in ep 1. Only it is now the Mana she wants to remove.
Not that it detracts from her character. It is refreshing that a female mc is an unrepentant bitch. Totally entertaining to watch
I don’t find her unrepentant, I don’t even think she wants to just destroy ‘mana’. ‘Mana’ isn’t her enemy, a people that only hate are. And I think honestly, this was her and Hilda blowing off steam. I doubt they’ll really destroy everyone..sadly.
