You know, here’s the spot where i’d say something sarcastic about how the episode was lame and how I wasn’t looking forward it. But goddamn it I was actually looking forward to this episode. Damn you show about dancing! (shakes fist)
So the episode starts out with the five of them (Tribe Cool Crew) and how they’re officially a new group. Kuma tells them that they all need to stretch but Haneru’s a little jerk and acts like he knows better. After a few minutes, a duo of punks you think are going to be trouble show up, but funnily enough, it’s actually Kuma’s friends from when he used to go around beating people up.
While together, they ask Kuma if he had been invited to Dance Road, the thing he’s been hoping to get invited to.
Apparently dance road is some super special dance contest that only the best dancers get invited to and it’s Kuma’s dream to get invited.
Once they get back to practicing, Haneru starts acting like a spaz again and then basically leaves when Kuma calls him out on it.
Haneru then comes back to the usual burger place where his friend somehow always happens to be…not sure how that works out. Do they not have any other hang out place? Or does his friend just live there waiting for the second he’ll be useful to the story again?
Then some weird kids come in (one who plays with a ball in a cup)
Then..they kind of leave. Um…thanks for the tension I guess?
Haneru meets up with Kanon and they talk and Haneru decides to give the team another chance.
Once he does, Moonwalker guy shows up, this time for everyone to see and hands them all an invitation to Dance Road.
To which An image of Jey shows up and greets their team by name.
He disappears and they’re left with the invitation. To which they’re going to train and do their best to win the Dance Road!
End of Episode.
Honestly, not a whole lot happened in this episode. A lot of it was Haneru being a dick, but at least the ending was cool. Hearing about their entry into the Dance Road actually got me pretty excited. I mean, I DID find it a LITTLE convenient that they got in the invitation in the first episode we even HEAR about this, but eh, I can forgive that.
This was one of those “set up” episodes where we ‘have to learn how they got past their problems with each other and learned how to work together’ thing.
All in all, not a fantastic episode, But I like where it’s going and I want to see Haneru become less of a douche and for him to learn some comradery and teamwork. Reallyi, he’s the only character I’m actually worried in terms of screwing things up. Hopefully he won’t mess them up too badly….I hope.
Episode: 6.5/10
