There was a lot of talking in this episode, so I guess not too much happened, except a lot of things are going to happen.
Akatsuki met up with Shiroe in the world after death (not sure what else to call it). Before she had gotten there, she was in real world Japan, running to nowhere, which led her to Shiroe. She learned she didn’t do what she was supposed to do, as Shiroe told her. And after, Akatsuki realized what she needed to do. Shiroe and Akatsuki didn’t have a long moment together, but either way it helped Akatsuki. She wakes up into the cathedral and everyone (Marie, Henrietta, Rieze, Lenessia, and Nazuna) meet her there. And Akatsuki does something she’s never done before.
She asks for help.
She asks for everyone’s Teachings, in hopes she can defeat the murderer herself. But then she learns another thing: she knows she can’t defeat the murderer by herself. She and Lenessia learn the lesson that there was no way those two could have kept a huge secret to themselves and handle it. They both learned that they needed to trust and get to know others. Lenessia, she never tried getting to know the others, so hearing that Rieze wasn’t a noble, despite her proper personality, surprised her. Akatsuki has always done things by herself, and she enjoyed being in Shiroe’s shadow and letting him handle everything. But once he was gone, she was lost as to what to do. She also never got to know the others, but this time, for both Akatsuki and Lenessia, things are going to change. They’re all friends, and they’re going to fix this problem themselves. Princess Lenessia had told the other ladies about the murderer, so now they’re going to team up and come up with a plan. This is what I wanted, and I’m so glad. Akatsuki is slowly becoming her own person, and not just Shiroe’s shadow. She doesn’t need to rely on Shiroe all the time. She had friends the whole time without her ever acknowledging them, the same with Lenessia. So I’m glad the ladies are gonna take the reigns together.
Other than that, there’s strange things going on in their world. For one thing, Crusty’s group is still taking out goblins, and Sansa (the girl always with Crusty) is having problems with her weapon. Sometimes it’ll glow and rattle, but since it never got weaker, she dismissed its weird behavior. But later on when she and Crusty were investigating a strange training ground for goblins, Sansa’s weapon glowed red and grew out of control, trapping her in a red void. Crusty had pushed her out and caught himself in it, with Sansa trying to pull him out. But then Crusty vanished, and half of Sansa’s arm had been burned off when the glowing stopped.
There are many more strange things happening. With the guild Nyanta had visited before, there was a meeting being held. 1) Even if your sub-class isn’t chef, you can still be able to cook foods with flavor (even if it’s only exclusive to salads right now). 2) Sex differences. Even if you’re a man, if you have a female body as an adventurer, your voice will gradually become more feminine, and vice versa. 3) The lands are increasing in size. One point from Akihabara to wherever has grown longer than before. And 4) The flavor texts are having real-world affects. Flavor texts are just descriptions for items just saying what they are and where they originated. I wish they’d show how they got these results, but…hm. Anyway, there’s a lot of strange coincidences going on in this world, too much to just say they’re coincidences. The world is changing, and it’s starting to sound like the world that looks like their game, is slowly starting to turn into the real world. Why is this happening, but why did this even start in the first place? Everyone is feeling that there’s something very strange happening, and I feel like it’s only going to get worse.
The event with the scythe was almost certainly a case of flavor-text becoming real. The issue with the world growing larger seems likely related to the half-Gaia project: Elder Tale was only half the size of the real world… until now. The change in voice may indicate mental changes are happening as well, suggesting that players are slowly becoming their characters. All of this suggests to me that the things that had been game-like elements of this world are slowly transforming into real-world elements. Not necessarily OUR real world, but they are still becoming “real.”
Why this is happening, though… That question leads us right back to why any of this happened. Why did the adventurers end up in this world in the first place? What caused the Apocalypse? Find answers to those questions and I think we’ll find answers to these.
