I think the only way I can guarantee next week’s episode is to translate title’s myself, shows me for being lazy- this week’s episode is about the Cat God Lady falling in love with. . you guessed it
KOHINAAA!!!!
Of course she is different: She is in love with her at first sight because she is obsessed with dolls. She wants Kohina desperately and Kohina does a terrible job at convincing anyone she is not a doll when she so badly wants to be one. Due to this Kohina is kidnapped and replaced by one of the Cat God’s dolls,. . . who Shiragaki and Inugami totally think is her at first.
Some of the best jokes of the episode result from their failure to rescue her. Basically: There’s a barrier preventing them from getting into her cafe. They google search, and it works, but it has ridiculous standards to get into it (to quote: what is this an rpg?!) So what will happen to Kohina? Well Kohina of course beats her, hah. Using funny cat stereotypes.
But the single greatest segment of this episode occurs right after. Kokkuri finds a box in Kohina’s storehouse that warns him not to open it, and he does. What results but the inevitable moment of greatness I have been waiting for: Kokkuri becomes a woman.
I so love the way he looks, too. He’s really cute. Again this episode really highlights the one thing I hate about Kohina, she is so meant to be a trope inversion she can just be mean and not even play along with Kokkuri. He asks her if she thinks he looks cute like a woman and what she thinks, to which she gives a glib response about him being a one note character that loses it’s appeal when he becomes a woman. Kohina, please, honey, you are not a doll and you’re being kind of a dick.
He is terrified of what will happen with Shiragaki and Inugami once they find out, but it’s a much different response than you’d expect. Shiragaki catches one sight of her and declares he will give up smoking, drinking, he’ll work- if Kokkuri would marry him. Kokkuri is like the fuck?! And he goes on to explain “how can I meet anyone my age who meets the same standards and is also a virgin?!” bahahaha. That scene was cute enough to almost make me ship fem!kokkuri and Shiragaki, but then Kohina points out that he didn’t say he wouldn’t cheat on her- to which he makes a lofty wishy washy declaration that he ‘probably’ won’t cheat on her. Ugh, denied.
For once they left on a cliffhanger and I must know more! I know Kokkuri has to be changed back but it will be humorous as to how, since the box contained a misleading and aggravating direction on how to change back (that at first glance only seemed like an insult) so Kokkuri blew it up. Until then.
Look at dat moe!!!
Oki
Kokkuri-chan is super hot! *-*
Tama was a bit of a hit and miss for me, but I did find Kohina’s methods of defeating her (as well as the barrier battle going on outside) to be absolutely hilarious. All in all I’m glad she seems to be more of a side character since I think she could prove to be pretty funny in small doses. Now the only one left to meet is the Tengu character! They tend to live around mountains, so…class trip!? I think I want to see a class trip.
And then there’s Kokkuri-chan. I do love genderbending when done right, and this is oh so right! Her sexy-cute appearance and tomboyish voice make for a pretty loveable character to me. Today’s anime are driven by little more than cute girls doing cute things! Kohina doesn’t know what she’s talking about!! (And dang it…combined with my appreciation of Shiragaki and Kokkuri-chan’s tsundere (from an out-of-context view) attitude I’m sorely tempted to ship them cheating or no cheating…)
