Impression
Amira’s character is so mysterious and unexpected. She starts off as a quiet, total badass one-winged demon and then all the sudden her personality flips 360 to this adorable, innocent, childlike girl living the life. So what is she exactly and which side is she on? Here are the things we do know: She is on a journey to Helheim in hopes of finding/meeting her mother, and she is being pursued by the Orléans Knights under the orders of Jeanne d’Arc because she had stolen God’s Key, and… she is a one-winged demon.
Now clearly there is something up with being a One-Winged Demon. Whether that means they are a hybrid of either half human half demon or half angel half demon (I am led to be believe the latter at the moment given how she described the Knight’s attacks as “tingled and how Favaro’s demon detector doesn’t react all the time) it certainly put me under the impression that she serves no one but herself. She stole the God’s Key for her own purposes and has no intention of giving it to the Demons or back to the Angels. However whether or not she knows of the consequences of the two keys bringing brought together, we will have to wait a bit longer before we find out.
Favaro today was dealing with the demon tail curse Amira had laid on him. (You have to hand it to her though, smart thinking to ensure that she is given the information she wants and needs). So Favaro is not an actual demon nor was turned into one, he just has to live with it until he either brings her to Helhiem or give her solid directions. But it isn’t easy to walk around in public with a demon tail. The villagers will call a bounty, in this case Kaisar to eliminate them. However if he wants to keep his head he going to have to be a lot more smarter about his choices. In all seriousness, he should know better not to try and kill Amira- especially since he is by all means no match for her. He tried to take advantage of the situation where Amira was drunk, but luckily her story about searching for her mother stopped him and was quickly interrupted by Kaisar. So knowing he was no match and was still desperate to get rid of the tail, when he came across an opportunity of having the Oreleans Knights hunt her down for him, he immediately sold her out.
Only… that didn’t work out because his horse adored Amira and was like, “OH HELL NO, WE’RE GONNA RESCUE HER!” I nominate the horse as MVP! Too bad they left it behind…
Now having escaped from the Orelean Knights, both Favaro and Amira are now WANTED. Kaisar is now determined to catch Favaro and rescue Amira (clearly he didn’t read the details about her bounty considering he is dead set on rescuing her). I just hope it won’t be too much longer before Kaisar officially joins them on their journey.
Speaking of Kaisar, although it was brief, we were given a glimpse of his past and why he works so hard. He used to be a Noble and then something had happened where his family named was tarnished. He is determined to restore their name and place and become a good Knight… but that might prove difficult when he is lovestruck about Amira who is WANTED at the moment.
The Angels and their Orléans Knights aren’t the only ones who are pursuing Amira, there is also an evil Demon Lair lurking up within the clouds, just waiting to make their move. They too want the key, but they are hoping that Amira will bring it to them since it would certainly be far less of a hassle. If not, well that tough luck for them.
Overall it was a fun episode, but the 360 personality flip of Amira’s character threw me off quite a bit. At the moment I am still on the fence whether I would like to do the coverage on this series, so I will give it one more episode to see whether it can become a keeper.
