As we already knew before, Hak and Yona head to Hak’s home, the capital of Fuuga. While back in Hiryuu Castle, Soo-won has called a meeting of the five tribes, to announce that King Il has been killed, Hak and Yona are missing, and he proposes himself to be the new king because of his royal blood. The others agree, all except for the one representing the Wind Tribe in Hak’s place, Mun-deok. Rumors were thrown about that Hak had been the one to kill the king and taken Yona hostage, so of course he doesn’t believe that. He does not give his approval and leaves, but of course Soo-won won’t let him be. In fact, holy crap, the Fire Tribe are in on it too. The general knows everything, and he’s on Soo-won’s side. Shit. This spells out trouble because Soo-won is going to make sure the Wind Tribe approve, and the Fire Tribe is going to help with that.

Back at Fuuga, Yona had collapsed from all the people that had surrounded them wondering who she was and happy seeing Hak again. Yona wakes up in a bed to have Hak’s little brother tend to her. The guards that had been sleeping at the front door come in, Hak too, and silliness ensues. A lively and fun place is good place for Yona to be in after everything, especially now since she’s smiling.

any4.24Oh, yeah. Not Yona. To cover up her identity since they’re on the run, Princess Yona is now a court lady in training named Rina, so everyone calls her Rina. So Yona is up and about, bumping into a woman who’s going to teach Yona everything like cooking, cleaning, sewing, whatever since she can’t do any of that stuff. She gives Yona laundry to wash, lucky for her Hak comes along and helps her. Laundry is washed in the river, but they can’t do that because when they get there the river is completely dried out. It’s been held by a dam by, surprise surprise, the Fire Tribe. When Mun-deok arrives, he’s happy to see Yona and Hak okay, and when he catches wind of the river, he knows this was done because of him. They’re really pressuring him to approve of Soo-won being king, but they don’t give in. They decide to buy water from merchants, and that’s that. But the asshole that tried being gross to 13 year old Yona in last week’s flashback is plotting more, so more trouble is coming.

Tae-yeon, Hak’s little bro, comes into Yona’s room to take her to dinner but she’s upset about Soo-won trying to be king. He’s a frail boy we’ve been told, and he got especially excited this time when trying to comfort Yona, so he collapses. Everyone else comes in and Mun-deok describes that he’s having an attack because his lungs aren’t well, so we can easily guess that he’s having an asthma attack. He needs his medicine to get better, and they were about to get some from the merchants until they heard that they were attacked, and they all think it was the Fire Tribe. Now they can’t get medicine, and now they can’t get their water. But Hak tells everyone to calm down and wait, and they can’t pick a fight with the Fire Tribe because they’re much too strong.

Later in the night, Hak and Mun-deok have a talk. Hak tells his grandfather to approve of Soo-won being king, while Hak leaves the village not caring that he’ll have a bounty on his head, and leaving Yona behind to live a happy life again. Well, I would be a lot more upset if I didn’t already know that Yona would be joining him anyway, especially by next episode’s preview. Speaking of, this episode was just the calm before the storm because next week is going to look bad. Soo-won’s an ass and the Fire Tribe are sneaky bastards.

I like the light-heartedness of this episode, and it was nice for Yona to be around so many other sweet and kind people, and seeing a little of her personality come back. She’s still wallowing, but it’s only been three days since the tragedy. And with Hak, it was cool of him to finally take his General status and issue orders!

But one thing that bothers me with this show, and I noticed this in the first episode, is the volume of the music. When they were talking about the damming of the river, the music was ESPECIALLY loud and kinda drowned out the dialogue, and it was kinda annoying and made the scene less tense. It was just too much, I hope that won’t be a recurring problem.

Unfortunately still a weeb

Agreed about the music. I didn’t notice it in ep 1, but I definitely did today. It was supposed to be dramatic, I guess, but it was just a surge of sound out of nowhere! But either way I loved this episode! Han Dae and Tae Woo are so funny, and they almost exposed Hak’s feelings! x’D
