In todays episode, we meet Lord Kelvin. I haven’t wanted to call trigger warnings on an anime since I was watching Diabolik Lovers. However, since I’m trembling in something I’m not sure if it’s horror or anger either way, this episode might upset some people.
In this episode we find the missing children at the household of Lord Kelvin. He uses them in a variety of ways from using them as servants to using them as performers in his own sick personal circus.
Children die in this episode. These kids who can’t be more then perhaps 12 at the most, are dying and this man is laughing and clapping. It’s as if he doesn’t see what’s really going on.
Perhaps he doesn’t. The nature of his injuries is rather mysterious so perhaps he suffered some sort of brain damage.
Joker looks, so massively pained as these children die in his performance. I think he is actually happy when Ciel has Sebastian stop the show. Joker owes this man his life, he was just a poor injured child on the streets before so I can understand his dedication but you can legitimately see the pain in his eyes as the children die.
We’ve known for a few episodes now that Kelvin is after Ciel for a reason that has yet to be explained. In no episode prior to this one is it more obvious then here. He treats Ciel like royalty as if he’s had no greater honor then to meet him.
We find out here, why that is. The ceremony that Ciel has been flashing back to this entire season. It seems that lord Kelvin was there and intends to recreate it. The room is set up as almost an exact replaca of what we’ve seen in the flash backs. He’s been obsessing over this, for years.
He’s been obsessing about sacrificing a small boy for years. To the point he recreated it. That’s sick, it’s more then sick. It’s…I don’t have words for what it is!
I feel this episode almost needs to be coupled with Eight, considering how they bridge together.
This episode starts with Grell being let off probation and returned his death scythe.
-Internal screaming-
WHAT THE HELL IS IT WITH THE KUROSHITSUJI ANIME AND GRELL? HE WASN’T IN THIS ARC OF THE MANGA. I WENT BACK AND DOUBLE CHECKED JUST TO BE SURE MY MEMORY DIDN’T FADE. I ACTUALLY HAD TO GO BACK AND READ THE MANGA. HE’S NOT IN THIS ARC, STUPID ANIME.
Alright, now that i’ve got that out of my system. Let’s look at the actual episode.
The first part of the episode is made of up a flashback showing Lord Kelvin as he developed his obsession with the Phantomhive family as a whole. He viewed them as something different, something special. The faces of the villainous underworld.
He becomes obsessed with them, becoming a special person like them. The nature of his wounds is facial reconstruction surgery. As he goes on and on about how he reconstructed everything about that night, Ciel shoots him in the chest.
Joker goes to attack Ciel but is completely shut down by Sebastian. In the favor of censorship you don’t see him cut off Jokers arm, but it happens. As Joker lays there, he says that they are also going to lose something that night. That the circus troupe is attacking the mansion.
Ciel and Sebastian laugh and say that their servants are Phantomhive servants. The next part of the episode is dedicated to showing us exactly what that means.
What this means is that the servants of this house are complete and total badasses! Finny beats the hell out of Jumbo, and the two kids start to do good against him. Then they’re shot down by a sniper, This snipper is the bumbling maid Mei-rin.
THESE SERVANTS, WHO ARE TOTALLY USELESS AT BEING SERVANTS ARE TOTALLY AMAZING AND WE DON’T EVEN GET TO SEE WHAT BARD CAN DO UNTIL NEXT EPISODE!
These episodes for the most part were amazing, now if we could stop overplaying Grell. Unpopular opinion is unpopular. Oh well, we’ll see what bringing him needlessly into this arc will do for the show. -gags a bit-
