Impression
I find it is somewhat annoying that they are dragging this issue out beyond one episode, but I suppose it makes sense because this could put Hime in the heroic position of saving them in the nick of time against Phantom (who will be showing up next week). My disappointment however is my own fault because my expectations were too high. I was more or less expecting them to give us the back-story of why Hime had opened Axia in the first place today, but instead, Hime’s worries of her friends leaving her to team up with Iowa dragged on throughout the entire episode, and continued on as Hime misunderstood as soon as Megumi and Iowa teamed up. (That was something I’m sure we all knew would happen.)
Ever since we have learned Hime had been involved with the Axia box’s opening, I been a believer that Hime did it by accident (because surely, had she known what the consequences were, she wouldn’t have gone anywhere near the thing). She was either manipulated by someone, or she merely thought it was a pretty box, and didn’t realize that there was something dangerous inside of it.
It was no surprise to see that when Iona realized that Hime hadn’t told them her darkest secret, she was quick to jump on the opportunity to tell them herself in hopes that it would persuade them enough to leave Hime behind and join her instead. In fact, compared to last week’s smile while extending the invitation, this week’s episode had Iona look quite aggressive. She is desperate to defeat Phantom since he is the biggest threat right now that needs to be dealt with ASAP, and she knows that she can’t defeat him alone. However both Yuuko and Megumi had declined, and Megumi in particular is excited about forming a team, but not without Hime. It has to be all four of them- and Megumi won’t give up on that, and besides, she can be pretty persuasive when she puts her mind to it. However we all know very well that in order to become a team, Hime needs to share her side of the story. Ironically, everything depends on whether Hime opens up to them, and we will probably see more of that as the precure hunter Phantom makes his move again. With this being the 20th episode mark, I am expecting the four of them to have their first power up as soon as they truly unite as one team. And only then, will they defeat Phantom or force him to retreat.
Extra Note: YAY! THIS IS MY FIRST TIME COVERING TWENTY EPISODES OF PRECURE!!!! (The past two series I stopped before the tenth episode hahahaha!)

Fortune’s name is Iona, not Iowa. Hikawa Iona.
I admit Hime’s jumping to conclusions at the end of the episode seemed rather a bit contrived. While it is somewhat fitting to her personality, there was just a lot less justification behind it than there was when she ran away the first time earlier in the episode. It’s kind of annoying, because it looked like Megumi may have been making progress in getting Iona to agree to work with Hime.
Next week is episode 21. Early 20s are generally when new Cures join the team or the kids get a powerup… or both. Plot-relevant stuff happens around here, anyway. I want to see how well Phantom handles all four of them together.
