WHEW, episode five is finally out!
It was all innocent fun and games until Sora draws his key card to reveal the true strength of his deck. All his monsters started off utterly adorable, but it quickly changed to a darker contrast (which I more or less expected the second Sora started laughing). Frankly I was just waiting to a dark duel personality pop out. Des-Toy Scissor Bear was not as creepy as I kind of hoped it to be, but I suppose it could be eerie enough for the kids.
Despite the fact Sora had asked Yuuya to take him on as his apprentice, Yuuya had repeatedly declined the offer, but much to his dismay, Sora is a stubborn kid who have been stalking him ever since. Interestingly enough, Sora isn’t some newbie and is probably, by the look of it- a potentially formidable opponent. Although he reasons of wanting to be Yuuya’s apprentice seem a bit… strange given that he wants to be able to see him pendulum summon since he can’t be taught until he receives his own Pendulum Cards. That being said, today’s duel had the agreement of if Yuuya wins, Sora will have to stop stalking him and begging him to be his mentor, and if Sora wins, Yuuya has to be his mentor. The match could go either way at this point now that Sora is no longer fooling around.
I am curious of when or how Pendulum Cards will make it’s way into the story to the point we finally get to see others who possess these cards. I suspect we might not see any of that until maybe sometime around episode fifteen. In the mean time, Yu-Gi-Oh ARC-V definitely made it clear that it will sure to be showcasing all the different kinds of summons (eg: fusion summon) that have developed over the past four series/generations. Since Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds was and still is my favorite YGO series, I am looking forward to/hoping seeing Syncro Summon some point in the future- but I am quite curious of how they will fit it into the newly founded Action Dueling setup. Hell I think given we all each have our own favorites, it will be fun to see how they will be integrated into the new elements of the dueling fields.

This was a good Episode. It will interesting to see how Yuya will do against fusion Summoning and I know Yuya will beat Sora. Also Yuya will show Sora how he entertains people in his Duel and to always have fun!
(them commenting on fusion) “I’ve never seen one before” Me watching: because most people don’t bother with them after Syncro monsters became a thing xD
The episode was alright, though I gotta know, anyone else getting a little tired of Yuuya using the same pendulum set up all the time? I mean I know those 2 are the best combo in the OCG right now but from the looks of things half of yuuya’s monsters were converted into pendulum cards, why not mix things up?
lastly *sigh* I have a feeling im gonna grow to hate Sora and his forced cuteness act -_- though it is nice that is episode pretty much shows that the card platform of the duel-disk is generated from dueling holodeck system afterall ^_^
I think we’re going to have to endure the same old Pendalum set for a while until he gets a new sets of cards, which will probably only happen AFTER some more people come in with Pendulum Monsters (though we first have to figure out HOW in the world he got them- though I wouldn’t be surprised if it came from Space much like in YGO 5DS LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL)
Sora using the ‘moe’ tactic is something i can’t stand either. It will certainly grow old very quickly, so hopefully they won’t overdo it.
Good Episode. Poor Yuya having Sora following him around awful! Yuya didn’t even want to duel Sora until his friends beg him to even when Sora try to do a cute face at Yuya to do it and it only work on everyone but Yuya. When Yuya attack one of Sora’s monsters and he fall down on the ground everyone felt bad for Sora and they said that Yuya was too hard on him and Yuya says this is Action Duel that’s what you are suppose to do. Also Sora was even being serious in the duel and when he did he pulls out a Fusion Summon.
