Impression
I have a lot of mixed opinions about this episode. Let’s be honest here, had Cheer Mole never showed up, Yuuya would have definitely lost. While it isn’t new to the Yu Gi Oh universe to see characters receive new cards in the strangest and most abstract ways possible, it was extremely annoying to see (especially this early on in the series) Yuuya get the free “win-by-default” pass along with somehow, magically receiving a new Pendulum Monster. It feels almost as if he cheated, so his so-called victory wasn’t something to be proud of. And if that wasn’t iffy enough, it only gets weirder as Sora reveals (in between the lines) that he is from the past (First Generation). Now this is where it gets complicated for me and I start to question where is this all heading? We have a character from the first generation, Pendulum Monsters born right within your duel-disk/deck out of blue, and Yuuya’s dream to be an entertainer, so it begs the question, where is this all heading, what is the present arc and it’s focus? We are six episodes in and there isn’t so much of a sign of what to expect in the upcoming episodes. As of right now, given that Yuuya is presently the only one possessing Pendulum Cards, I suppose the first thing that needs to happen is a baby boom of Pendulum Monsters.
Sora hasn’t grown on me, but I will give him some credit for being a formidable opponent. He was delightfully playing the fool, concealing the fact that he is actually stronger and more intelligent than his opponents would think. See, the moment Sora knocked Sawatari and his gangs unconscious, one should have more or less expected that he was just fooling around. The kid is actually extremely agile and speedy like a ninja, so when he is dueling for real and wants an Action Card, he will make sure to get it before you. In fact, as soon as Sora started taunting Yuuya it dawned to me that Sora only wanted to duel against Yuuya’s Pendulum Monsters as oppose to actually wanting to be his apprentice. Since he lost, he now declares he will be Yuuya’s first and already began identifying him on a first-name basis (and Yuuya was not pleased. Right now, he does not want to be associated or friends with Sora- nor do I blame him considering how annoying he can be).
Yuuya has proven to us that he is going to be an extremely emotional character. The minute his beloved Hippo was eaten by Scissor Bear, he started to get mad, and then when Sora destroyed Odd-Eyes Dragon, Yuuya broke down into tears. Yuzu however explained to us that the reason why Yuuya gets so emotional about Odd-Eyes Dragon’s loss, is because Odd-Eyes Dragon is a form of his courage and accomplishment of his Pendulum Summoning technique. Naturally Yuuya’s hope was restored when Odd-Eyes Dragon returned to the deck instead of the graveyard along with a new Pendulum Monster, Etermate Cheer Mole (who appears to serve more as a party buffer).
Speaking of which, I was a bit surprised by how underwhelming his new Pendulum Monster was. Cards in the Extra Deck (as far as I’m concerned) are usually BIG, AWESOME, MAJESTIC, BADASS monsters. Yet despite the fact Etermate Cheer Mole was quite underwhelming as a new Pendulum Monster, I really do love the design and find it freaking adorable. But most importantly, I especially love how they are matching the monsters to fit Yuuya’s style. The majority of his monsters have performers characteristics in their designs since Yuuya wants to be an entertainer and deliver a spectacular show to the audience.
Next Week: It appears that Yuzu is finally going to get some spotlight by dealing with Sawatari or whoever the hell shows up in that mask using XYZ Dragon (oh joy… Zexal monsters).

This was a good Episode. I can see that Yuya is a emotional character and I can relate to him I get the same way. I don’t blame Yuya for getting upset about Odd-Eyes Dragon’s loss. When Yuya loss his Odd-Eyes Dragon he loss his courage to go with the Duel and when he remembers what his Dad says he gets rate back up and gets back to the duel. Hopefully Sora change little bit over time he can be very annoying at times and the one that finds him annoying is Yuya and no one else in the show finds him annoying but cute. Good entertaining duel Yuya and good job on winning the duel.
Good Episode! I felt bad for Yuya when his Odd-Eyes Dragon was destroyed by Sora’s Fusion Monster. When Yuya loss his Odd-Eyes Dragon he loss the courage to go on with the duel until he remembers his dad and what he says to him when he is down. Sora was kind of annoying this episode and last one hopefully in the future he be less annoying. Good Entertaining duel Yuya against Sora and Good Job at winning the duel!
