Awwww, it is a shame that Ei-Chan lost, but I will always prefer realism over fictional wins. Although he had lost the game, he managed to drag it out to last 67 minutes by rallying the ball, but eventually ran out of energy and the game finally came to an end. Oobayashi however was growing frustrated and only even became more wary of Ei-Chan as he realized what kind of ability he has. He perceives him as a formidable threat since he already had a difficult time while Ei-Chan is presently only a newbie to the sport. He dreads the idea how just how powerful Ei-Chan will be once he gets proper training, experience and polishing his special skills. Considering how restless he was in this match alone, and how desperate he was to end it before Ei-Chan found his mometumn, there is no doubt that it is going to be an interesting match to watch in the future. That said, Takuma also had his eyes on Ei-Chan, and from the sound of it, he may have been motivated by him to return to his original form after watching his match.
It was great to see Ei-Chan have so much fun and put 110% of effort into the match.  He stubbornly refused to let the match end. Tennis has quickly taken over his life, and he is driven to get stronger because he enjoys it so much. Seeing him write a reflection sheet about his match (freaking brilliant) and then decide despite the fact he is pretty exhausted, he will go out and practice some more before dinner made me so happy for him because he FINALLY found something he enjoys as oppose to constantly studying for school. Instead, now he is fired up to studying and observe his opponents and take notes on them mwhahahaha!
In return of his passion for the game, Coach Miura tells Ei-Chan that at this rate, he can potentially become a formidable threat for the top five seeds in possibly just six months time due to his keen eyes and accurate note-taking that he had developed over the years. He invites him to come to the STC Court 1 at 7am if he wants to become a better player, which Ei-Chan gladly accepts.
We learned from Ei-Chan’s mother today that he always had sharp eyes, and only developed the accuracy further because every night when he was little, he would be glued to the window watching the train past his room- waiting for his father to return home from work.
I am surprised to learn that if you are hit in the face by the ball, you lose a point! In almost any other sport, they would be crying out foul! What a silly rule. I get it if hits anywhere else on the body, but your face???? With the speed those balls are flying, someone could probably lose a few teeth and break their nose- ugh, and soccer ball, dodge balls, soft and baseballs are already bad enough- so I dread the idea of a speeding tennis ball hitting my own face…. *SHUDDERS*
