After the encounter with Albion (Teppei), Amara and Moco went out to seek him out and see if they can bring him back and/or find out where he stands in all of this. More mysteries come into play as Amara reveals that Daichi is a Neoteny (we don’t exactly know what that is yet, except is considered a threat against them).
It is refreshing to have a character like Daichi who isn’t fazed about Teppei’s true identity and continues to be his anchor and pillar of support, reassuring him that be belong with them. Teppei was this close to surrendering himself to Amara so that no one else would get hurt, but Daichi came swooping in going, “You aren’t going anywhere prettyboy!” And that’s the thing I love about their friendship, and even more so when Daichi gave him that reassurance by using their promise they had made when they were children that if Teppei surprises him, he will give him his necklace.
Captain Earth Ep 4 Img 0007We were finally able to learn a bit more about what Planetary Gears can do, which is awesome- especially when you have magical girl Akari defeat and rid of the virus Moco had inflicted as fast as she did. They can manipulate data, and any source of technology, and easily override security systems. They do in fact prey on Humans and mentioned of Liblidos, which we don’t really know what that is yet (though I think it is safe to assume it probably some sort of energy Humans have that Planetary Gears feed on).They also revealed they have a Mobile Weaponry (Mecha Suit) in possession which I somewhat suspect are the Low-Orbit Impacters that Salty Dogs have mentioned last week.
As for the Machine Good Fellow. Peter reveals to us that it was secretly taken from the Macbeth Enterprise during the Kanda Incident (and at the same time as Teppei has been taken in by Globe it seems). Whether the title ‘Macbeth’ still has any connection to Shakespeare’s play, that is up in the air as we now know it’s actually an enterprise that shares it’s name as well, but I digress. Yet despite having taken it, up till this point, other than knowing that from the surface Macbeth Enterprise claimed it was developed as a man-machine interface for the latest mobile weaponry, but Globe knew early on that it was developed for an entirely different purpose, but had no idea whatsoever what it’s use was for other than it was Teppei’s, or rather in this case: Albion’s personal Neural Maneuver System; in which allows him to take form as the Type-3 Kiltgang that saved Daichi and the Earth Engine.
Captain Earth Ep 4 Img 0029I find it an interesting element to have Nishikudo want to feel something, a meaning for Hana, Teppei, Daichi and Akari to have all gathered in one place, sharing a goal of wanting to protect Earth. But as fiction goes, I think it is destiny for the four of them to have gathered together at Globe, and established a precious friendship. However there is an ominous warning from Amara, as he isn’t too worried about where Albion/Teppei stands in all of this since he is one of them. Amara claims that Albion will end up following his instincts because there is no way he can ignore the pleasure of, what I assume is referring to consuming Humans. Admittedly, I more or less expect to see Teppei end up being influenced by his instincts and causing problems to the extent Globe or whoever it is orders Daichi to eliminate him in the future, which would be quite and angst episode, even more so if it is absolute. After all, after the kind of damage Amara and Moco had inflicted on Globe today (and mind you that was just a lazy mission, they weren’t going all out) it is unfortunate to say that they will most definitely lose by default if a Kiltgang were to make it on to Earth.
Next week will be quite intriguing given we will be meeting the woman who had given some of her genes to Teppei. There is a huge mystery revolving around Teppei’s character, especially given that up till now, he had always thought he was Human. It makes you wonder what actually happened for his memories to have been suppressed and now he seems to have them back. The only thing that made he realize that he wasn’t like the other kids was how he was able to summon a rainbow halo with is hand. There was also the mention of the Kivitos Plan, which Salty Dogs had revealed were a part of last week. Given how Globe, or rather Nishikudo has no intentions of sharing this highly classified information regarding Teppei’s true identity as a Kiltgang/Planetary Gear, it is going to be quite intense.

    Libido is your sex drive, it started popping up in the second half of Star Driver (I think they said that that was how they were moving the robots there which made the entire fandom die laughing) so that’s undoubtedly what it means here too.
    “They also revealed they have a Mobile Weaponry (Mecha Suit) in possession which I somewhat suspect are the Low-Orbit Impacters that Salty Dogs have mentioned last week.”
    Actually I think the impactors mentioned last week were things like the German satellites that Akari took control of last week, earlier in this episode they mentioned that the macbeth guys were developing some sort of mobile suit weaponry so it looks like it was only partially a front to hide the machine goodfellows, they really were working on those too.
    Also, pretty sure the purple haired character next week is actually a boy but let’s wait a find out. 😛

      *SPITS OUT DRINK* Omfg, I didn’t reach that part of Star Driver. XDDDD All more Star Driver references then! Aka the theory that Captain Earth = Star Driver 2.0 all more likely (*not to be taken seriously*) That is still freaking insane I can’t breathe.

      Notice how they said that this is “what the humans want”. Fun fact: “kiltgang” is a term to indicate a boy secretly going to meet a girl at night for example by entering her room from the window (and possibly having sex with her). In other words: they need to feed on the humans’ libido, and honestly, they know that humans want it too, deep down. Look at that planet, would it show all of that blue sea if it didn’t want the Goodfellow *wink wink nudge nudge*? Please.
      …yeah, I find that the sexual double entendres are by the way the funniest part of this show XD.

        LMFAO! It is definitely would be the funniest aspect if you understand/catch the references- sadly for me I am only learning of them now. XD;;;
