Kakumeiki Valvrave 2 Ep 7 Img 0021God damn it all! This episode hurts, hurt so much because it was fucking beautiful in a tragic way. L-Elf was determined to successfully rescue his beloved Lieselotte, and almost got killed (and was willing to sacrifice himself) in the process. He even confessed his love to her (OH GOD THE FEELS) and Lieselotte didn’t know how to respond right away because she was not human, she was a Magius (which I will get to in a moment). For once Haruto was useful not only in combat, but as a person. Even though he is no longer Human, his love for Shouko is strong enough for him to find a way to make it work. It was touching to see Haruto who felt the same way as he saw himself as a monster tell both himself and Lieselotte that it’s okay for them to be in love with a Human despite not being one themselves.

Lieselotte and L-Elf are star-crossed lovers. The worse part of it is that in the process of aiding L-Elf and his team to get away from the Dorrisian Army, because Lieselotte was lacking runes (due to the the marks on her as a mark of having been rejected by the Council of Hundred and One) she wounds up losing her memories, until her last moment with L-Elf and like Marie, died. She succeeded in rescuing them so her death isn’t in vain, but it’s absolutely tragic and heart wrenching because L-Elf was so close. This also confirms that the memory loss is definitely something that will continue to be in effect as Lieselotte explained to us that Haruto and the others take after the Magius.

Thanks to Lieselotte we were able to learn that a Magius is a species that had crashed on to Earth a few centuries ago due an unfortunate accident. Having lost contact with their race, they had no choice but to possess the terrestrial beings in order to survive since they have no form. It turns out that Pino is the same species and as they have no ‘shell’ it makes a bit more sense how she has been integrated into the Valvrave. We were then told about the Council of Hundred and One, an organization made up out of the most influential Magius and Humans. Their purpose was to keep their existence fromthe public after a long secret war against Humanity. With this all the pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together. In the first season, we were told that 70% of the Human Population had left Earth, so as result it appears they are running out of resources, so naturally they must harvest elsewhere, aka return to Space where the rest of Humanity had moved on to.
Kakumeiki Valvrave 2 Ep 7 Img 0024Despite having our hearts ripped out, there was also good character development on the team’s side. It was really great to see Satomi being far more level-headed and keeping calm despite being in a pinch. He took control of the situation and waited for L-Elf’s order that eventually came. On the other hand, Saki surprisingly didn’t get much screentime this week, as we only saw her get caught redhanded by A-Drei after she returned to her body. It probably would have been smarter to make sure A-Drei wasn’t around, but the guy knows what he’s doing so she probably wouldn’t have been able to detect him despite taking precautionary measures. I have a feeling that is her strapped in the body bag that we saw in the preview.

The princess has always been on the top of who’s going to die list. I guess the hitman finally hit her. Also, what’s going to happen to Saki?
    TQ

Sunrise: Destroying your ships since 1972. I think they did a really good job with Liselotte, and it really helped humanise L-Elf and add some extra layers beyond tactical genius.
Hopefully we get some Saki time from next week. And agreed, totes predicting ~forbidden love~. Anyone but Haruto.

TTvTT Yup so true. God damn it Sunrise!!!! *SHAKES FIST*
Yeah I hope we will too, it’s kinda funny how her screentime was almost as long as the preview itself from last week’s episode. I really look forward to her interactions with A-Drei, I’m actually hoping that if she does explain to him how the whole biting possession thing works she’d use the example of how they first met with something along the lines of: “Oh you know that time when you tried to kill us all when you invaded our school and was shot in the face by L-Elf? Well that was my buddy possessing him at the time”
