Diabolik Lovers: [Episode 2]

Yo, Ayato wasn’t playing when he proclaimed himself to be Yui’s first everything. I like you, Ayato. A man of your word. I actually feel a bit bad for Yui. It must be terrifying to be in that position. But as a spectator, who’s a bit desensitized to the entire prospect of vampires being just scary, blood hungry creatures, my heart couldn’t help but go doki! doki! when Ayato made his advances on her in this episode. I don’t even know what I’d do in that situation. I’m guessing this has started with his route.

Yui is being forced to adapt to the vampires’ way of living: The Nocturnal Lifestyle. She will rest during the day. Go to night school. And drink cranberry juice. Reiji told her she could either adapt of leave. In other words: Do as we say or die. Reiji is scary, I never had any qualms about his character but I do now. And I like that! I kind of don’t know what to expect here.

So after being caught and admonished by Reiji, Ayato took Yui home. She wakes up. He lifts her up, carries her outside then flings her in the pool; telling her that she must confess that he is the best…while she is drowning. He realized, after she surfaced to gasp out that tiny detail, and kissed her.

Honestly, in both scenes – when he bit and kissed her – I don’t know if it was just me and my love for the whole vampire deal, but the music and what took place had a significant sexual undertone to it. And I can just feel the S & M coming along.

There was also a glimpse into Ayato’s past. What he did to Yui (throwing her in the pool) seems somewhat similar to what he had done to him in the past. And the same mysterious woman who Yui saw on the balcony, was also in this flashback scene. So the question is, who is she?? I feel the weight of the word “Mother” on my tongue, but I’ll hold that speculation.

Yui’s father’s diary, which holds significance to Yui, is now blank; the entries are gone. Possibly this diary is going to be used as a plot device. Yui is not amused that the diary is now empty and the episode ended.

ALSO:

Who is this beautiful creature\OoO/?! Is he possibly a prodigal son?? No, I don’t think that’s it. Maybe he holds some connection to the mysterious woman or probably he’s just some character that will be useful to the story.

My only gripe with this show right now: It is too short.
