“If I could, I would share my breasts with you.”
Synopsis: After seeing her in a dream, Kazuhito recalls his younger sister Harumi Madoka. His nostalgia is cut short when Akiyama Shinobu’s editor Hiiragi Suzuna appears, a massive masochist with huge breasts prone to fantasizing. What’s worse, Natsuno is in a slump?! As they discuss how to get over her slump, the subject of a mysterious slasher case arises. However, lurking in the shadows of the incident are glimpses of Akiyama Shinobu’s book and Madoka…
Impression:
F*ck me, this episode was hilarious. I never thought I’d enjoy an anime like this one, y’know? Sure it’s got it’s quirks and maybe it can be a little derpy at times, but that’s okay, because it’s funny… and Natsuno is cute… just saying. A mystery, comedy, suspense thriller? Sure, why not. I didn’t think it could be done, I mean, the concept was rather lackadaisical and those genre’s combined don’t tend to result in a very good overall product… but it works. And it does it well. Here’s to Shunsuke Sarai, the man who wrote the light novels. Well done.
Episode 3 introduces a slew of new characters, Suzuna, Madoka and Maxi… oh, and that Yayoi girl who got poor old Kazuhito sliced up because she couldn’t keep her grubby mitts off of him… poor dog. I like the cast of the show, they’re… unique. Maxi likes to always be “Shining!”, Madoka… is Madoka Kazuhito’s sister? A close relative? His girlfriend? I wasn’t explained very well and even though he called her his “sibling”… you know it is in Japan, everyone who you respect or know well is you “onii-chan”. But we’ll talk about Madoka later (I’ll admit, the name threw me a bit…)… Suzuna! Is weird. A masochist? With purple eyes? And those insomniac bags that appear in almost every anime these days? Oh, and she has a large chest… apparently that’s important… but don’t worry everyone! She wishes she could share it with Natsuno… what a caring person.
Before we talk about Madoka I’d like to put to you a theory of mine… does anyone else think that the characters are just manifestations of the Seven Deadly Sins? An homage to Akiyama Shinobu’s works and, of course, the actual religious deadly sins. For example, Maxi would be pride, Madoka would seemingly be envy (if I’m reading the situation right), Suzuna might be a glutton for punishment (that one’s a bit far out there, I respect that) and Natsuno would be… lust? I could be wrong entirely but it might just be possible that when she, Natsuno, finally finishes her novel, ‘Lust’, that will manifest into a lusting between the two main characters…? Yeah, you’re right, I’m just reading way to much into this…
Why is Natsuno in this sudden slump, I wonder? At the end of the last episode she was pretty much overflowing with the apparent ability to write ‘Lust’ and now… well now she’s apparently writing a bunch of sh*t. What happened? Sure she’s blaming Kazuhito for the issue but… let’s take a look back shall we? Episode 1. Natsuno is writing ‘Lust’ in the cafe whilst Kazuhito is being shot. Episode 2. Natsuno feels remorse and takes Kazuhito in. Episode 3. Natsuno is apparently in a slump after the incident. I’m thinking that maybe the issue is being caused be the feeling of guilt and or remorse that’s plaguing her? She was fine until Kazuhito got shot and now, even though she knows he’s ‘alive’, she just can’t write. I’m thinking that there’s going to be a forgiveness scene and then Natsuno is going to write the best novel of all time? Maybe… That’s just my outlook on it anyway…
And what’s up with this ‘Three Authors’ oddness? When did this show turn into Bakuman? So what, are these three young authors going to battle it out through their literature in an attempt to become the best in Japan?! Sounds… yeah. I just hope we get to see another Maxi Natsuno bitch fight, it was pretty funny to see Natsuno go up against someone who’s wit doesn’t supercede her own and also someone who can’t be carved up with scissors if they say some wrong… not that she, Maxi, that is, can’t be carved up with scissors, but the torture and murder of a human would result in much more jail time than animal cruelty… just saying…
Madoka… who are you and what’re you doing with Kazuhito! And how does she know that Kazuhito is… well, Kazuhito? Can she hear inside his inner monologue as well? If so… does that mean Natsuno is going to face some competition? But why has Madoka wrapped and bound are dog friend? Does she not trust him? Or does she only suspect his being Kazuhito. Either way it’s going to be great seeing Natsuno either A. going full out in an attempt to rescue everyone’s favorite doggy companion and or B. going full on lost love mode in an attempt to receive the dog/human hybrid babies that she’s always wanted… that’s sick you say? It’s not my fault that there are so many blatant bestiality references in this show!
To conclude, InuHasa has, yet again, proved to me that mystery and comedy can go together hand in hand, dog penis in human vagina, human brain in dog body, sweaty muscle man in sweaty muscle man. I’m interested to see just where this series is going and, if it keeps going the way it is, it’ll definitely be one of my favorite shows from this season.
