“I’ll stay with you the rest of the night.”
Impression:
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! THIS EPISODE WAS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED AND MORE! AKSLDJALKSJDALKSDJALSKJDALKSJDALKSJD I CANNOT, IT WAS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE WAS THE DERPY ANIMATION (WHICH IS SUCH A SHAME BECAUSE THIS IS MY FAVORITE EPISODE FOR OBVIOUS REASONS), BUT I AM SO FUCKING HAPPY RIGHT NOW- I MUST BE ON CLOUD NINE!!!!!!
I cannot right now. To think Tokiya actually took Haruka out on a date– now don’t you tell me it wasn’t a date, it was a fucking date. He went all out and took his sweet time so that he can spend more time with Haruka, and supported her when she needed it most, which was a beautiful parallel to how she had supported him last season. Seriously, I loved it, it just it made me so happy. THAT’S HOW YOU OTP!!!
I absolutely loved how Tokiya asked her to meet up at the spot to see his promo singing CRYSTAL TIME which was absolutely fantastic, I almost screeched when I saw his Prince outfit. Just aksjdlaksjd the entire scene was so shippy and lovely, I just cannot right now. My fangirl cannot contain herself. Don’t get me started on his adorkable disguise.
Over the course of last week’s and this week’s episode, Haruka buckled under the pressure with composing a song that would guarantee STARISH victory. However having been consumed by that, Ringo pointed out that she was missing something in her updated pieces. It had turned out that Haruka had forgotten her purpose/mission as a composer, of wanting to make people happy. I really felt for Haruka when she realized that she lost sight of the most important ingredient to compose her songs and the consequences of her actions would have backfired by jeopardizing STARISH’s chances of winning. It was also sad to watch because we know that she is someone who cares so much about making people happy with music. I was happy that it was Tokiya of all people who had reminded her this and was there for her. Like I had pointed out in the above, it parallels to how she had helped him when he was stuck in a rut. So of course I was ecstatic when Tokiya hugged her because she really needed it and told her that he wants her to depend on him a by sharing her pain with him so that she doesn’t to cope with all the burden on her own. (And I have to say, because I know we’ll never get a kiss- this hug was a major satisfactory for me. I WANTED THIS SO BAD AND WE FINALLY GOT IT!)
As Tokiya talked about how he loved her music, he mentioned the same thing as she had last season to him by telling her, “I love the music of your true self”. This might be my shipper-goggles getting in the way (it probably is), but I actually interpreted it for the first time as a genuine subtle confession of his love towards her. He told Haruka that he wants her to share her pain with him, although it can be argued the boys all feel the same way, it was just the way he had said it- referring to him specifically. He could have always said, “us” to imply the group. Having that said, it was really cute how the boys realized that Tokiya slyly (whether he realized it himself or not) that he would invite her to the fireworks himself and ended up being late because of reasons heehee.
One of the interesting parts about Tokiya’s character development this season (although it wasn’t showcased because it was mostly covered last season) is that in order to grow he realized that he needed to accept the Hayato part of him because whether he likes it or not- that’s just part of who he is. By having accepted Hayato, Tokiya was able to accomplish what he had struggled with so much last season, singing with that passion that Haruka had became inspired by when she first heard/seen Hayato sing. On top of that, I felt they did a really good job with Crystal Time since it was very indeed very nostalgic and did a great job highlighting the Hayato side of him— actually in fact there was a direct parallel shot from when Haruka first seen Hayato perform and Tokiya performing now.
Finally last but not least, STARISH singing that song Dreamer’s Symphony was great too. Seriously they sound so great as a group, I absolutely love it. Oh and one last last tidbit, I HIGHLY recommend you people to listen to Independence which is his second song on his IDOL CD. YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO SWOON, I guarantee it. The full version of Crystal Time is fantastic too.
Oh my gosh, I am indeed squealing at this episode. Listening to Independence at the same time. Haha
Too much Tokiya adorableness. Ahhh, the way he supported Haruka made me melt! That hug, the subtle confession. Ahhhhh! I am happy. 🙂
THIS EPISODE JUST MAKES ME SO HAPPY. LIKE I FEEL ALL FUZZY INSIDE AND I CAN’T STOP SMILING LIKE AN IDIOT!
