No seriously: ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU ARE READY?
STARISH has officially made their debut and have graduated. They are now enrolled in the Master Course and live in the same dormitory. Shining leaves them to their seniors the Pioneer Princes, but the boys are already on a rocky start.
First Impression:
……..Holy. SHIT.
I thought I was ready…
I thought I was mentally prepared.
I thought it couldn’t get anymore dazzling and I dare say sexy?!
NOPE. I WAS NOT PREPARED.
Actually there’s NO POSSIBLE WAY YOU COULD BE PREPARED FOR THIS.
OR THIS
There are two outcomes to watching the OP/ED (you know it’s probably going to be reverse next week).
You will die
or
YOU WILL DIE.
I JUST CAN’T.
LOST ALL ABILITY TO CAN WITHIN 15 SECONDS INTO THE SHOW.
THE PELVIC THRUST, DAT ASS, SENSUAL- WHAT!?
WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU?
I don’t even know! Oh my god- I can’t imagine how crazy this season is going to be. It’s like, how do I explain this? First of all, I don’t know how i feel about Cecil now being added to the main cast- it’s definitely interesting that he will be joining them at some point or another (maybe even next week). I think, though this might be just my inner fangirl praying for the sake of romance he might be the one (besides Otoya who has a very hard time concealing his feelings towards Nanami) to really set off the jealousy trigger. They made it very clear and devoted the entire first half of the episode to get the point across about how the boys all feel about Nanami. We knew last season that they liked her, but now it’s a full out crush and Makoto and Syo are actually the first to display their jealousy.
Last season the biggest problem was that there was too much focus on Tokiya, so I hope they will balance each of the boys’ importance better. It doesn’t exactly help that we now have five new characters (including Cecil) so lets just pray this show will pull through, and hopefully even do better than the first season.
I am actually quite wary about just how much sparkles we will be seeing this season. There was already a handful this episode, and last season there was so much it was as if it were a sparkle/shoujo bubble overdose.
I can’t be the only one who was rolling their eyes seeing just how clumsy and corny the whole matter was of Haruka literally walking into everyone. That was so overdone. But with that in mind, as I have reminded myself after doing a quick rewatch of Season 1 last week, this show has always been corny/cheesy from start to finish.
I am surprised that Haruka is by herself at the moment, but I do hope she will have a senior of her own to work with.
Speaking of seniors: Ranmaru is pretty rough around the edges and isn’t interested in mentoring the rookies. Ai is pretty cool, I look forward to learning more about him, he seems mellow. Rei is the most carefree member of the Pioneer Princes and also appears to be the leader. Can’t say for sure though, that’s just speculation on my part.
Now Camus. I can’t be the only one who was completely thrown off and confused about the sudden disappearance of Camus who was featured in the performance, but was not actually at the scene. I suppose the whole point was to convey the The Pioneer Princes’ (Quartet Night) professionalism and level. But even if that was the point, I still can’t wrap my head around it.
So each of the Pioneer Princes are paired up with two of the newbies (the STARISH boys) and share a room with them. It was very amusing to see that they are hogging an entire half of the room, forcing the STARISH boys to share one side and sleep on a bunk-bed.
Last but not least, I actually thought to myself while watching the ED Utapri just went Aquarion EVOL transformation/merging sequence (if you had watched either Aquarion series, you probably know what I’m talking about). God. The opening- ah that’s right. It was quite misleading last season, so I won’t get my hopes up about seeing the boys (especially Natsuki and Syo playing their violins- something which I would like to see) have a chance to perform with their instruments as a group.
Overall, I felt that it was a waste of time to devote the entire first half of the episode to simply re-introduce the boys, they probably could have had a faster way of doing it. And frankly, it was boring. The second half was a major improvement since the seniors the Pioneer Princes (otherwise known as Quartet Night) grand entrance caught me off guard and from there on out I found the episode was a bit more entertaining. I am hoping next week will be better now that the introductions are all done and I am curious to see what kind of a role Cecil will be playing.

Extra Note: Right now Crunchyroll does not feature the Karaoke Lyrics of the songs, but fortunately you can turn to WhyNot FanSubs since they feature it. 😀 (THANK GOODNESS, but come Crunchy, you did it for AKB0048, lets see you do it for Utapri please).
