Okay, don’t freak out, don’t freak out, remember to breath, in through your nose, out through your mouth…

Hello there! This is the post in which I introduce myself! (crosses fingers that everything will work right)

Hi! I’m so glad you decided to click on the read more, and join us here for my introduction post. Take a seat, take a seat. You see, while I might be a little shy at first, I’m also an incredible narcissist, and if there’s one thing I love to talk about other than anime, it’s myself.

My name’s Tenderfoot (that’s not actually what it says on my birth certificate, in case you were wondering) and I’m going to be a new writer here at Angry Anime Bitches! Whoo-hoo! I’ll be starting now, with the beginning of this upcoming Fall season. I’m a little new, so please bear with me as I learn the ropes. I hope you’ll enjoy my posts and I’m looking forward to writing and interacting with all of you!

Here’s a little bit more about me (in detail…sort of): I’ve been watching anime and reading manga all my life. I grew up watching shows like Ai Shite Night (or Rock n’ Roll Kids, as it was known on German television), Heidi, Girl of the Alps, Anne of Green Gables and the like when I was still in Kindergarten (I was one cool kid, let me tell you.) Some of my best memories are of getting up really early Saturday mornings to watch Pokemon with my brother, running (and I do mean running) home after school to make it just in time to catch the last 10 minutes of Sailor Moon and then watch Gundam Wing, or of going to our local video rental store and picking out a show to watch, one DVD at a time (note: letting your 5th grader watch Neon Genisis Evangelion is a horrible idea because it will give them (and by them, I mean me) terrible nightmares for life.) I took a long break from anime, so I missed watching a lot of good shows, but now I’m back and working hard to make up for lost time. I never stopped reading and collecting manga though, and I’m very proud of my collection.

If you have any questions for me, or want me to expound on my love for 80’s music, kittens, Hana Kimi, or anything else you can think of, let me know in the comments! Yay!

Some of my favorite anime: The Vision of Escaflowne, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Sakamichi no Apollon, Kimi ni Todoke, FLCL, The Twelve Kingdoms (Juuni Kokuki), Mushishi, Sailor Moon, Usagi Drop, Mononoke, and Rurouni Kenshin.

Some of my favorite manga: Hana Kimi, Kuragehime, Hourou Musuko, Kamisama Hajimemashita, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun, anything by CLAMP (I have a love/hate relationship with them), Kimi ni Todoke, Mars, Basara, and Fruits Basket.

YAY CLAMP FAN AS WELL WE WILL GET ALONG PRETTY WELL. lolol
I’ve been a fan of CLAMP ever since I first watch CLAMP School Detectives, then followed by Magic Knight R, Cardcaptor, Chobits, etccccccc. /o/

Akthough I haven’t really continued seriously with their new supernatural series and Blood-C but plan to when chapters go in number. 8D

Nice to meet you, Tenderfoot! LOL Your childhood reminded me of my childhood as well, trying to catch the anime series on TV after school. haha

CLAMP Fans Unite! I’m glad someone else likes them too! I love their art but mannnn do they make me want to bang my head against the wall with their plots sometimes. I think my first series by them was actually X/1999 and then MKR and Cardcaptor Sakura and all the rest. I haven’t seen Blood-C yet either though 🙂 You should try Gate 7 (their new series) it’s really pretty. Anyway, it’s nice to meet you too Linzz!

No, seriously, their TRC plot was overwhelming and it was like, “DID I LIVE HALF OF MY TRC LIFE A LIEEEE?!” or like that. lolol IMO, TRC was their best selling ever with all those twists and 180 degrees turns followed by awesome crossovers in their awesome series I felt dying remembering my childhood and at the same time, savoring how awesome TRC was. lolol

Tried reading Gate 7 before Blood-C but since both are still ongoing, I have to reserve my energy for a while. I’ll be expecting a long series on Gate 7 though.

    HIGHFIVES WELCOME TO THE TEAM!!!!!!!
Yeah you pretty much summarized my own childhood (ANNE GREEN GABLES FTW!!! HIGHFIVES ) except renting any anime besides Pokemon. XD; We never had much of a selection at our local videostores.
OMFG, Neon Genisis Evangelion at 5th grade! Your poor soul! And here I was at the time too freaked out to watch Full Metal Alchemist on television!!!!!!! (I was a big chicken then okay!!!!?!?!)
Speaking of being scared: Sailor Moon also scared the shit out of me when I was a kid, the first episode at that. I FREAKED AND RAN OUT OF THE ROOM SCREAMING.

      Thanks for having me!!!!
I was cursed and blessed in that 1. My mom was very (very) lax about what she would let me watch as a kid and 2. that our local video store had a huuuuuuge selection of anime (and it was right next to our local comic book store.) End Result: I was definitely warped as a child (there’s one EVA episode that I still can’t watch) I could see how FMA would be scary as a kid, with all the limb losing and trying to bring back dead people in the first couple of episodes. I’m a bit of a chicken too (as you can probably see). I can’t watch E.T to this day because I watched it as a kid and it scared me so bad I hid behind the sofa.

X_X;;; Yup, it was blood and the limbs alright. In fact, I think the first episode I saw of FMA on tv was the one where all the villagers were dead or whatever. Soul taken out or something, my memory is blurry.

C’mon~ Sailor Moon kicked asses when I was a kid. x))))
