BEST. EPISODE. YET.

Summary

Haruka tells Junichi very vaguely that she will be going to England after graduation, and Junichi realizes that this will mean losing Haruka forever. After trying and failing to contact her through Jessica, who isn’t allowing him to speak to her, Junichi manages to convince Tsukasa to let him present the closing speech to the third-year graduates. Instead of delivering a proper speech, he decides to propose to Haruka in front of the entire school.

Impression

“Haruka, I love you. I really love you! PLEASE MARRY ME!”

“I love you! I’m so happy! Of course I’ll marry you!”

MY HEART.

OMG MY EMOTIONS. JUNICHI YOU’RE SO PRO. NO THIS IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST AMAGAMI EPISODE SINCE THE ORIGINAL SEASON, SINCE SOMETHING. ACTUALLY. HAPPENED.

Okay I’m calm now. I can’t believe Junichi actually did that! I mean, he’s been so timid all throughout the series, but that was one of the most cheesy yet magnificent anime proposals I’ve seen. Junichi’s never been more of a man than in that moment. Also that had to be one huge leap for Haruka to get on the stage so easily – the power of love can do anything after all xD Risa made a cameo (like in some previous episodes) but this one was noticeable, and I was surprised they didn’t show her raging as everyone was cheering. Leaving that to a possible future OVA maybe?

I should have seen it coming – the roleplay of a housewife Haruka greeting Junichi as he got home, the situation with them alone in the house and the possible thought of his Morishima-senpai leaving him forever. Typical Amagami though, to voice out what’s gonna happen by having Junichi stare at a wedding dress in a shop window.

Jessica trolled Junichi pretty badly with the whole dramatic “you might never see Haruka again” spiel, when she’s actually only going to England for a week. Hibiki might have had a hand in it too, since neither her nor Haruka herself mentioned the time frame she would be gone for. All’s well that ends well, though you’d think Junichi would have had the idea of asking her how long she’d be gone for.

Haruka and Junichi actually got married really quickly since they didn’t look too different from their high school selves, nor the timeskip version we saw at the end of last season’s arc. She becomes a housewife in this good end, but I found out that she becomes a successful businesswoman if you stand her up in the game, and the bad end plays out with her becoming Junichi’s cold, uncaring boss. Good thing we had a happy end xD
