Yuuta ends up having to take care of Sora, Miu and Hina for a week, while their parents go off on a trip. The girls set some ground rules for him, and they all get to know each other a bit better. However when their parents are involved in a plane crash, the girls look all set to be separated, until Yuuta pitches in and offers to let them stay at his house.

What we have here is basically a heartwarming family show and an ecchi that have been mashed together, taking the good bits out of each genre. There’s no short of stereotypes or fanservice though, both proven through Sora and her tsundere nature. She’s completely fallen for him even before he turned up, hence taking a second shower which ended up in Yuuta meeting her that way. Clever xD And I guess she’ll be playing the “we’re not technically related, so it’s okay” card at some point too. I’d pick Raika over her any day though, nothing to do with the boobies. I noticed her absence in this ep actually, it’s just not the same when we’ve only got underage girls. We’ll have to settle for that nekomimi cellphone pic xD
Yuuta! You cruel, heartless person. Why would you go ahead and beat a 3-year old at a Wii game? Go on into that corner and reflect on your actions, until Sora decides to take mild revenge and thrash you at that very game. How could you make poor Hina cry~
Obviously I knew that the girls’ parents had to die or be unable to take care of them in some way, since the plot synopsis does say that they move in with Yuuta. Still, it was pretty shocking to have it happen so suddenly, being already totally out of character for a show like this. There was this hint of foreshadowing though, when Miu tries to call Yuuta “Papa” but stops since it wouldn’t be right. The meteor shower may have some symbolism as well, but I’m not too sure.
You’ve got to hand it to the girls for protesting against the arrangement to split them up – the fact they’ll be able to see each other just whenever is a total lie. I did see some resemblance to the first episode of Usagi Drop and how both Daikichi and Yuuta took in extra relatives just out of kindness, when no-one else wanted to. Yuuta being an adoptee himself pretty much explains his other reasons, which would be to repay his sister for taking him in all those years ago. The two were pretty close, and I’m glad they emphasised that, but I really didn’t need a full-on naked hugging shot in the bath. Sure, it was completely unintentional but it gives out a completely wrong image of this show, especially if that sort of stand-alone pic is how fans first get introduced to it -_-
I don’t know how the girls will eventually get over the deaths of their parents, but I’m sure Yuuta will help them on that path somewhere down the line. On the whole I don’t think I captured that magic I saw with the first episode, but it could just be because of the buildup towards the plane crash among other things. Bring on the crazy antics!
I said the same thing about the Wii incident, he is so jacked up.
I did not expect that incident to happen O.o (I didn’t read the synopsis ^.^v)
LOL at the part where they scribbled and put a wig on Yuuta XD
Haha it would have been pretty shocking then, for a comedy/ecchi to suddenly up it and kill off the girls’ parents.
Yuuta kinda deserved that scribbling for being far too dread to Hina though xDD
in manga, it saying that their parents are missing
i do not expected that they die..really??
poor these girls especially hina
Well, the plane does crash…and there’s a funeral, as well as that bit where Yuuta stands over his sister’s grave. IKR? They totally don’t deserve this.
