Impression:
NO NO NO NO!!! MASAKO! OMG NO NO NO NO NON NONONONONONONONO!!!!!
I CAN’T, I CAN’T THIS IS TOO MUCH OH GOD.
AND NOT HIMARI TOO! HER DOUBLE-H FRIENDS WENT TO SEE HER AND WHERE IS SHE, DYING. FREAKING DYING.
THAT IS NOT FAIR.
THAT IS NOT FAIR AT ALL.
THE MOST DEPRESSING PART ABOUT THIS, BOTH OF THESE GIRLS SACRIFICED THEMSELVES IN ORDER TO PROTECT KANBA.
KANBA YOU SON OF A BITCH! BECAUSE YOU WOULDN’T STOP KILLING PEOPLE AND GOING ALONG WITH THE WHOLE SURVIVAL STRATEGY PLAN BULLSHIT CURSE CRAP AND LISTEN TO YOUR SISTERS, LOOK WHAT YOU DID. YES IT’S YOUR FUCKING FAULT, BECAUSE YOU WOULDN’T LISTEN. SO FUCK YOU KANBA. FUCK YOU.
This entire episode was dangerously soft. There wasn’t any major action, instead it was pretty calm how everything unfolded because nobody was screaming out for each other.
We learned a little bit of how Masako ended up separated from Kanba in the first place. Turns out Kanba had decided to stick alongside with his father who was plagued with a curse for his actions so that he can free his siblings, Masako and Mario. Now Masako decided to protect Kanba by not letting him die int he shadows by sacrificing herself!!!
Himari died (or so it looks like it) because she asked God to forgive Kanba for his actions in exchange for her life. The saddest part is that Kanba has killed so many without any hesitation that I highly doubt that even with her life, would it be enough to free him from his family curse. Right now, he is following the FABULOUS Devil who is literally a curse, Sanetoshi: who claims that there is still a way to save Himari (but at this point, I honestly believe it’s just a lie because he knows that’s exactly what Kanba wants to hear).
Sanetoshi didn’t have major screentime this episode, but one time he did made him look like a true villain. It felt truly eerie and made him look a whole lot more evil.
Finally the last two things I wanted to mention:
I pray to god that Tubaki will be alright! I knew that he would take the hit for Yuri and I honestly wish them the best. Yuri had also given Ringo the other half of the diary, I can’t remember whether the other half is in Masako’s possession or not, but I believe the two halves will come together again and it will be either Ringo or Shouma (or possibly even both) who activates it properly. This may be the only tool left to change fate or one’s destiny once again in hopes to prevent the tragedy from happening again.
After the credits we saw a flashback from ten years ago of Shouma in a box. I don’t quite understand why he was in there, but if it were for the tag I would’ve immediately had thought that was Momoka because of his feet. Despite the fact we are aware that Shouma doesn’t have any magic, I do believe that he has his own role with the Penguindrum. With only two episodes remaining, I once again urge everyone to prepare tissues in advance.
