Ren finds himself being threaten by Ryuuya that if he didn’t hand in his lyrics or miss anymore of his classes he will be expelled from school. Hearing this, Masato isn’t pleased with Ren’s behavior and later confronts him after hearing him play the saxophone and punches him telling him that if he isn’t serious he should leave after witnessing him tear up his lyrics he was writing and hearing him tell Haruka that its about time to leave. Haruka on the other hand has faith in Ren and goes searching for the torn pieces of his lyrics scattered across the academy. The next day while Ren is once more skipping class, he thinks back into his childhood about his mother and music. He soon is found by Haruka who gives him his lyric pieces she had found taped together and claims she will continue searching for the remaining lost pieces. With the school day over, Ren decides to hand his lyrics in the most epic way possible by hacking into the PA system and sing his song for everyone to hear.

ASLKFHLAKSJGH!!!! I LOVED THIS EPISODE. I LOVED THIS BECAUSE IT WAS JUST TOTALLY AWESOME. WHY? BEFORE I END UP MAKING THIS OVER A THOUSANDS WORDS LIKE I KINDA HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST THREE EPISODES I WILL SIMPLY PUT IN POINT FORM.
#1: IT KICKS OFF WITH MASATO, NATSUKI AND OTOYA DANCING they weren’t that great though lmao, Masato knows how to be honest and tell them they need to rehearse more.
#2: LOTS OF EPIC BROMANCE TENSIONS BETWEEN REN AND MASOTO
AND MASATO PUNCHES REN (I NEVER THOUGHT HE HAD IT IN HIM TO DO THAT!) AND DAMNIT THEY SHOULD’VE SHOWN IT, NOT CENSOR THE HIT WITH HARUKA’S FACE.
#3 REN IS FUCKING AMAZING AT WHISTLING *SHOT*
– A WHOLE BACKSTORY ABOUT REN WITHOUT HARUKA BEING THE ONE TO HAVING TO TRIGGER IT
We learned that not only Ren was forced to attend this academy, he had a rough childhood of having lost his mother and his father tried to get rid of everything that was a piece of memory of her. Ren tried his best to save those memories of his mother and was only able to successfully keep a precious tape that had her talking about a melody she came up when he was in her womb.
The major difference between Masato’s family and Ren’s is that Masato had to beg his father to let him go to school for an exception of one year, while on the other hand, Ren was forced to go in order to help promote their business in the music industry. That’s why Masato has no patience and despises those who don’t take it seriously – especially Ren out of all people since it hits closer to home.
#4 REN AND MASATO WERE SO CUTE AS KIDS, OMFG THEY ARE SO FREAKING ADORABLE.
#5 HARUKA WAS SO FREAKING ADORABLE THIS EPISODE. I LOVED THE FACT SHE IS TOTALLY POSITIVE THIS EPISODE!!!!!
#6 REN HANDS IN HIS ASSIGNMENT IN THE MOST EPICCCCCCCCCC WAY POSSIBLE! 8D
#6.5 LOVING THE PHRASE, “ILLEGAL LOVE” IN HIS SONG. FFFFFFFFF, THE SONG ITSELF IS SO SWEET!!!!!
#7 HARUKA ENDS UP ENCOUNTERING TOKIYA AT THE END OF THE EPISODE, DUN DUN DUN!!!!
DAMN IT, I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER SEVEN DAYS!!!!! T^T
One of the best things about this episode was definitely the fact Haruka played a VERY small role in triggering a backstory for Ren. At the same time I loved the fact she actually had very little screen time considering she’s the heroine of the show. On top of that we’re seeing some development between (well I think it’s mostly one-sided right now since almost all heroines are too dense to notice) Masato and Haruka from the last episode in comparison to her and Otoya I find.
The saxophone, honestly it looks to me it was 3digitalized. I swear to god it look so AWKWARD and UNATURAL the way it moved, as well as the texture and color. You can see a huge different between last week’s episode of Ren playing the sax versus this one. It was kind of disturbing, but my brain has been tainted by fanservice in general so it’s to be expected. *SHOT*
Lastly was I the only one who suddenly went like, “OMFG COULD IT BE THAT REN AND RYUUYA ARE BROTHERS?” during the first few minutes of the episode? I just realized now similar they look!!! I mean, the eyes, the hair.. seriously! Well obviously they aren’t when you look at their last names, but LOL, they still had me there!
