Yusei finds himself fighting against time as Rudger has set up Altar of the Bound Deity to special summon his Earthbound God. Not wanting the children’s souls to be taken, Yusei tries his best to keep the counters from increasing. However his efforts go in vain when Rudger activates his trap card Offerings to the Bound Deity which allows him to fill in the remaining counters for Altar of the Bound Deity and successfully manages to summon his Earthbound God Uru. Jack shows up just on time to prevent the children from losing their souls with his almighty magical super special awesome Crimsom Bubble – aka Crimson Dragon’s Anti-Soul-Consumer shield. Then suddenly, while Martha and Ushio go to rescue Takuya from the rooftop, Martha falls off the ledge and into the geoglyth and is used as a sacrificed and disappeared. Yusei, now completely snapping goes all out to try and defeat Rudger riht then and there only to have the Dark Signer troll him some more by summoning Rally’s soul and forcing him to replace him in the duel where the kid chooses whether he can lose or defeat Yusei. Yusei, not wanting to sacrifice Rally begs him to attack him rather than himself. Rally refuses to do so and ends the duel with his loss, telling Yusei that he is Satellite’s only hope, therefore he has to live.
Impression:
People died, Martha died, Rally died, Yusei totally snapped.
;^; OMG MARTHAAAA NOOOOOO!! D: YOU CAN’T DIE, YOU JUST CAN’T!!! *SOBS* AND THE GOD DAMN IT, EVEN RALLY, AND I CAN’T STAND THAT KID BUT I STILL CHOKED UP TEARS FOR HIM! YUSEI!!!! SOMEONE NEEDS TO GIVE HIM A HUG, LIKE RIGHT NOW. THEN HE ALSO LEARNS THAT RUDGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ZERO REVERSE THUS THE ONE WHO INDIRECTLY KILLED HIS FATHER. GOD DAMN IT!
So here’s one of the big things we found out. Rudger and Godwin are brothers – and the fact that they both worked with Yusei’s father is huge. Moreover, we learned that Yusei’s father wanted to stop the Momentum Project, realizing that it was threatening the city – which as resulted because the sponsors and Neo Domino didn’t approve that, they gave Rudger the position as the one in charge. And if that isn’t enough, he topped things off with being the one who set off the Zero Reverse in the first place.
The episode though was really good. I liked how Rudger was trolling everyone by not only having a trap card that would fill the remaining spots for the summoning while sacrificing his lifepoints, and then even after telling Yusei about his connection with his father, he tops things off when forcing Yusei to witness another friend’s death. Seriously, Yusei’s life is like, so miserable and tragic!
Martha, her death scene was – meh. I am still trying to figure out how the hell she fell off the building like she did but whatever. Is it possible to find a death scene sort of corny? Is that the right word to describe it? Just it didn’t really err… impress me.
The animation, god – it only improved SLIGHTLY compared to the last episode. I found that some of Yusei’s desperate and horrified expressions – mainly the ones being used when he was telling Rally to not sacrifice himself. Sadly I found some of the expressions just silly and almost laughed at it – which is totally wrong according to the mood. :
