Ohhh, JUST GIVE HER YOUR UNDERWEAR, MAN. I can’t believe we’re already halfway through the season. I’d also like to announce that I’m abandoning the Nanjo ship. I’m all in on Fujimoto. Final call. I actually think Keiki has given her the most praise out of anyone so far. Sure, he backtracked a bit with the whole underwear debacle, but he was so on-board (haha, ship, on-board, I’m hilarious) leading up to it.

I love Koharu’s new role while this thing with Shoma is in a stalemate. Spy extraordinaire. Well, maybe not extraordinaire because those pictures of Fujimoto had her looking directly in the camera. She got the job done though. She also has given Keiki the title of Commander. Quite a promotion. I like how understanding she is with the whole situation. She’s just great.

So we now know Fujimoto has a smell fetish, thinks he’s the best smelling person (the scent of destiny) and needs to sniff him to recharge her batteries and, honestly, that’s pretty tame. And he thinks it’s cute. Where’s the harm? Just let her sniff you. No idea how that’s not already alerting him to a smell fetish. As soon as it faded to black, after his line about how he was so glad to find a normal girl, you knew shit was going down. It was surprisingly less weird than I thought it’d be though. That position she was in was definitely more suggestive of some other activity. Also, not entirely sure why she thought he wouldn’t notice his underwear missing when he woke up, but sometimes you just gotta get it done no matter the cost.

Ah yes, the good ol’ ‘you lewded me in my own dream so now take responsibility for it in real life’.

“What kind of slave says that to her master?”

“I’m not your slave.”

“Fine, then own up to it by being my slave.”

10/10 logic.

I feel like every episode is decimating the meta more. First, with Yuika. Calling him an anime rom-com protagonist as she ran our of the room is probably one of the worst insults you can get. Dense, the butt of the joke, surrounded by women trying to date you… maybe it’s not that bad. But… she’s definitely not wrong. Then we got this gem:

Fujimoto shattering the 4th wall. To be fair, I probably would’ve guessed white.

Sayuki immediately doubled down. Her instincts are sharp when it comes to relationships. Too sharp. Almost… animal-like. She was being awfully bold at the garbage cleanup site, full pervert doggo mode, but Fujimoto seemed very up for returning the favor. She’s very shy and quiet at times and then very bold in others. Truly the best of both worlds.

I have to say, in all my years of watching anime, that might be the funniest, but weirdest and/or most disrespectful way to remember a deceased relative. I can’t believe they used a flashback of Keiki as an innocent child playing with his dog to help him with this situation. Delicate, yet bold. Thankfully he stopped at kneading her cheeks. I was marginally worried, as it progressed, that a finger might slip. Though, if you wanted to really get a dog to leave you alone…

Wear this or you’ll catch a cold. sniffs intensely. I know what a cold can do in Japan, I’ve watched anime. They’re basically the plague. I can’t believe she’d risk her life for a sniff. So brave.

I almost wish at this point that Shoma was clued into the weirdness going on. I feel like his commentary would add a layer of comedy and since they’re such bros with each other it would make sense for Keiki to confide some of the details in him. No progress as far as him and Koharu go, hopefully something pans out with that! Also, when Fujimoto was staring at the lockers, I kept thinking she was going to be help him solve the Cinderella case. I thought maybe she had picked up on a scent somehow. Ah well.

So all the characters, I think, are here! That leaves the remaining half of the season for harem ‘progress’ and to solve the case of Cinderella. Next episode sounds like it’s about Mizuha, which I’m so down for. It’s about damn time. Let’s see where this sage gained all of her infinite wisdom.
