Ohhhh shit. Moves are being made. Relationships are building and relationships are crumbling right before our eyes. I’m getting hyped! The fun and games are over now. The first real trial of love begins!

But first, what’s with all these high-school shows with these crazy festivals and getaway camps. Man, my school didn’t do shit for us! We went on like 2 field trips for a few hours each and most of that was spent on the bus. And that was in elementary school. We didn’t go anywhere for middle-school or high-school. I am supposed to believe that in addition to teaching us, schools are supposed to care for their students mental and emotional health? Pffft. This is some BS. Uesgui was so excited though. I can’t even be mad. Besides studying, this is the most passionate we’ve seen him about anything in his life. At the inn, I thought I somehow slipped into a parallel universe where I was watching Food Wars. That food made me actually hungry. To be honest, I think if you add some sparkles next to any food in anime it’ll probably make me hungry though.

I feel like this episode really showed the true perks of being a quintuplet. If I had a doppelganger that I could use at my discretion, well, let’s just say my life would be very different. Ok, probably not, but it’d be cool anyway. I can’t believe they carry around wigs and outfits of each other though. How often do they do this? Actually, what I really can’t believe is that the guy that was confessing noticed that they switched out. Damn, dude. Maybe you should be the protagonist. The purity of this guy was off the charts too. He came off as the punk type at first but was a total sweetheart. It was weird enough that he asked them to prove they were dating. But proving it by dun dun dun… HOLDING HANDS. What kind of sick, twisted individual gets into that level of sinning, and in public no less? I thought this was a children’s show! What are they gonna do next? Hug? For shame. Miku acting like Ichika is almost better than Ichika acting like Ichika. I’m not trying to throw any disses one way or the other, but confident Miku is 👌.

OK. Jokes and fun times are done now. Let’s talk about this. Play time just ended. Fast. Obviously the test of courage and camp fire legend were going to start some kind of ruckus. I was not expecting two of the girls to make a move though. And I was certainly not expecting the two girls that are making a move to be the ones to do it. Ichika has been playing at the ‘just friends’ and ‘let’s all get along’ thing the whole time. Personality-wise, she’s my favorite sister but, I kind of wrote her off romantically. That conversation between her and Miku at the window of the inn got me heated. That was a huge misunderstanding and I’m really not looking forward to the outcome of it.

“I’m not worried if it’s Ichika.”

“Miku says it’s all right, so I guess it is.”

Oh no. Oh, no, no, no. Miku is trying to hold herself back for the sake of her sisters and Ichika is all like, ‘itadakimasu.’ Now I understand that comment from last week that said Ichika is the one that plays dirty. That in and of itself isn’t so bad, an honest mistake, but when you combine it with the ‘kiss but not really a kiss / we couldn’t see because of the camera angle’ situation it becomes a bit more suspect. Girl, your sisters are all 5ft away from you. There’s not a chance in the world that that’s a good situation to get caught in. I really thought she was going to be a meeker character. And what the heck is Itsuki doing!? What kind of twisted logic train is she on? The first 3/4s of the episode she’s talking about how the student-teacher relationship must not be broken. At first I thought, ‘Oh, ok. She’s gonna distance herself with the he’s a teacher, I’m his student thing. That’s fair.’ Then at the end she’s talking about how it’s up to the teacher to correct the path of the student. Huh? Then she says she’s going to test how good of a tutor he was. Huuuh? That’s some scary-ass logic right there.

I trust Uesugi for now though. He really has no interest. At least, at the moment. This wouldn’t be a harem if he actually had no interest. He’s probably susceptible to their charms, like any normal person, but I wonder how he’ll handle those situations. The fact that he’s a little out of his mind because he got to go on a trip is a bit concerning too. In his normal state I’d probably not be too worried, but I don’t know anymore. Anyway, there’s no doubt things are heating up and this camp is going to be the first of many battles. Once this season ends I don’t think there’s any chance I don’t pick up the source material.

Side notes that I couldn’t really fit in anywhere else: More Raiha goodness this episode! Glad she got better. She was so sick her hair lost it’s arc. Also glad to see that the dad, despite being sometimes immature, is still a good guy. That was the first tender moment we’ve seen between him and Uesugi. Although him bursting in with the ‘Raiha, are you still alive.’ actually had me laughing out loud.
