Wow…. That was creepy

You now, one of my favorite movie is 12 angry men and it’s basically, 12 guys, sitting around a table and debating for 3 hours straight. The only difference with this episode is that 12 angry men actually makes sense, their debate is useful and leads to something. During the first part of the episode, we have our crazy crew, talking, saying bullshit after bullshit, during 10 minutes. It wasn’t that bad since it only lasted for 10 minutes but It was frustrating.

vlcsnap-2016-05-02-16h45m03s526So what happened? The people who went to seek help and got lost in the forest managed to find their way back. Jack escaped and everyone wonders if he received the help of someone. Of course everyone suspect Mitsumune who sided for him during episode 3 and Mai Mai who knew him before. They also talked a bit about  Judgeness, who fall off the cliff but they were more interested in making puns about his name than about his tragic fate. We also learnt that apparently everyone is hearing different sounds when the big howling happens. Some character heard a kind of Robot sound, an other one a bear and Megane-kun heard some laughter.

Speaking of Megane-kun, it’s the episode where he loses his chill. He becomes paranoiac and suspects the tour girl. According to him, she lured them into a false village in order to…. nothing, he doesn’t give any reason…Valkana takes her defense but that doesn’t stop Megane-kun who continues to suspect everyone. If it’s not Koharu, the tour girl, it’s someone else. He truly thinks that there’s someone behind everything, a kind of mastermind.

At some point Lion reveals that she can see dead people and that she saw Mitsumune disappearing for a second, she then concludes that he might be dead. Some people believe her, some other don’t. It’s not really important since they don’t seem to listen to each other. It’s almost like everyone is talking for nothing which led to frustration on my side.

vlcsnap-2016-05-02-16h47m51s398Megane-kun wants to sleep elsewhere cuz again he suspects everyone, but nobody wants to follow him so he leaves like a lonely loser. Ayato warns Mitsume about sticking out to much. Mitsumune says “okay” but I’m not sure he understood everything. I think he will never understand. Because he’s either dumb or really clever.
Some girls want him to guard their place and he accepts because… I don’t know… they are girls? Yeah, that might be why. But he’s watched by the two soldier freaks and the execution chick that teamed up with the paranoiac Megane-kun. They plan on attacking Mitsumune because… he’s fishy? I’m going to pass on how dumb this idea is since saying that over and over doesn’t change anything, those people are dumb, final point.

Valkana , the tour girl and the tour guy also hold a little reunion where we learn nothing, expect that the Tour guy is into the tour girl and is starting to be jealous of Valkana who’s getting closer to the tour girl because they actually have something in common: Gray cells. That might sound a bit ridiculous but it’s actually true. They are one of the few people to have been gifted with an almost full functioning brain in this village.

vlcsnap-2016-05-02-16h48m17s128Lion came to talk to Mitsumune while he was guarding the chicks’s house. She admits that she can’t really see dead people and I’m not sure whenever she’s lying or not but it might have been a way to test Mitusmune’s character. Her verdict is indisputable, Mitsumune goes where the wind is going. He agrees with everything and accepts everything if you’re telling him to. I’m sure he’d even sell his own mother for a Kinder  if somebody told him to. Before leaving she tells that if she cannot see dead people she can see people that are going to die… I don’t know, maybe it’s more a prediction than an actual talent… And a true prediction since right after her departure, the soldier freaks kidnap Mitsumune.

Mitsumune is then put in jail, ready to be questioned by Megane-Kun, and tortured by Lovepon, the execution chick. However, before they initiate Mitsumune to the beautiful and magical world of kinky shit, they see and smell some smoke so they run away. The fire was actually set by Masaki to free Mitsumune because she wanted to talk to him about something. They manage to escape the prison, and go to the forest because it’s safer in the fooooorest, of course, I mean, obviously, duh.
Masaki is ready to speak the truth buuut Mitusmune sees a big  creepy penguin doll half human half penguin that he calls Tokimune rising through the trees.vlcsnap-2016-05-02-16h06m57s924

Seriously, this penguin is even creepier than the eye. It actually looks like some kind of contemporary Art piece and makes me wonder what the freaking hell is going on here. What am I even watching? It’s made with the same kind of animation as the creepy eye… but I’m like… what the hell. To be completely honest, I was falling asleep during the last part of the episode and this creepy pingu woke me up.

KoiXyziYeah Pingu. This show was freaking awesome. But now, I’ll never be able to see it the same way I used to.

A girl from the preview talked about the ressemblance between that Tokimune penguin thing and Mitsumune, apparently they both look alike. Since Mitsume recognizes the big penguin thing I’m assuming the two of them are related. Though I did not find any ressemble between Mitsumune and the creepy penguin it kind of makes sense. Since Mitsume is the main protagonist of the show, it’s most likely that he’ll have a link with all the supernatural bullshit that is happening. Maybe the people that disappeared actually transformed into that kind of creepy monsters and are waiting, in a more distant place, to collect bodies to make more and more of those creepy dolls.

Also, based on the preview, everyone seems to seriously lose their shit in the next episode so it’ll be fun to watch this. But I really don’t want to see that pingu again, stop ruining my childhood animu.
Finally, I don’t really get the title of this episode. “Three Yunnas is a crowd”, it is sure referring to the three grills that share the same name but they didn’t do anything particular and nothing happened to them during this episode so… heh…Or maybe something will happen to them in the next episode. Who knows ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )

Have to agree that the talking part is completely shitty and kinda funny when one person disappeared and all they talked was about his name.

The penguin actually already appeared in episode 1 during Mitsumune’s nightmare sequence. Masaki didnt show any afraidness at all so I think she didnt see it or saw a different thing?

I heard in the manga, while the events happened as the same as anime, the main character is named Tokimune. This raised lots of questions….

Oh! It makes sense then. The penguin is linked to Mitsumune and most likely to his past. I think Masaki didn’t see anything. Like that time when Yottsun let her alone because he saw something. She told that she didn’t see anything because it was something that only Yottsun could see, like the creepy penguin.

Also, we learnt this episode that when the big sounds happens, everyone hears a different sound.
My theory being that this village’s monsters or supernaturals things, take the apparence of the worst fears/nightmares of people. Since each one of them has a different backstory, the village takes a different form for each of them in order to terrify/kill them.

I didn’t even know there was a manga going on… I don’t know what to think now… my theory being that Tokimune was Mitsumune’s dead brother and that Mitsumune somehow feels guilty for his brother’s death ( it’s quite generic tho).

But if in the manga the main character is named Tokimune and the rest of the cast is the same as the anime then Tokimune isn’t Mitsumune’s brother but Mitsumune’s real name…
But it doesn’t make sense since Mitsumune shouted “Tokimune” when he saw the creepy penguin… if Tokimune was his real name, he wouldn’t have shouted “Tokimune”…

      ….

My head is going to explode.

It’s been a while that the entire cast of an anime is so annoying that it makes me want to drop the anime if not for wishing to see them die in a horrible way. There are so many important things to talk about, so many mysteries but nah it is definitely better to waste half an episode for name jokes instead of plot or something more relevant.
But damn those three girls.. making mitsumune watch out because he is gullible.. oh well
A group of genius’ and of course you rather want to stay than starting to look for a way out from a lost village in the afternoon.
Why are they trying to interrogate and throw an idiot like mitsumune into prison instead of Lovepon that ACTUALLY TRIED to kill mitsumune, to execute literally everything and wants to torture.. oh but Jack who gets annoyed by judgeness is of course guilty. Well good job.
The amount of missing braincells from everyone is almost as creepy as giant Pingu.
I really hope they start actually try using their brains or else I might lose my braincells but 5 episodes in.. seems unlikely. It has so much potential

Btw why manga? This is Anime-Original (besides the folklore)

    1. Shiki

Wow now I feel kinda bad for so much critic.
Oh and when it comes to fear, it is really common for the mind of people to play tricks on them and to change reality with imagination like when you look out the window at night and see someone when it is actually just a tree etc. Same with noise.

    2. Vantage

Yeah those three girls have joined the long list of characters who annoy me. As well as the two gun otakus. I thought they were pretty cool, and now they’ve joined not!Togami and SHOKEI in kidnapping people. I guess it just makes Maimai even more best than she already was. At this point I only care about her and Valkana (it was delicious watching him unwittingly cuck the tour guide).

A manga was serialized and is being drawn at the same time as the anime airs. So the manga is the adaptation and the anime is the original source. It’s generally the same sans the Tokimune thing (iirc Speedstar thinks ‘what’s a Mitsumune?’ to himself) so the dead twin brother theories have reached an all-time high.
