UPDATE 01/04/2016- 6:37PM

Oh my goodness, we are so gracious and overwhelmed by emotions by your generous contributions. In just one day we were able to reach the funds needed to pay for the server fees. We can’t express how grateful we are for your generosity. We have never imagined we would see such a response. We send our heartfelt thanks to everyone.
Thank you so much! ヽ(;▽;)ノ

Sincerely,
Eva & the Team

Hello everyone, as you may have noticed the Donation box made a return a while back.
As you may also be familiar with, I am shy when it comes to asking for donations from others. But due to the difficult circumstances I am in, the voice in the back of my head is telling me that I should muster up my courage to ask for your support once more.

I will begin with explaining the circumstances so you can have a better understanding of the situation.
Two years ago, I decided to switch severs. I made the switch because we were having a lot of trouble with the former server host. Too much downtimes, the loss of the email and contacts, instability, lack of useful customer service, etc… While looking around for alternatives, I received a referral from a friend of mine to a small server host, (the one we are presently with), and later on I decided to give them a shot.

Our new server host was a lifesaver. Most affordable, better stability, and most of all excellent customer communication. But there is one downfall, unlike our original server where I paid in CAD$,  the server we are using right now requires to be paid in USD$ because it is a small company that operates outside of Canada.

As some of you may be aware of, the Canadian Dollar is in a total rut right now (dropping below .72 cents, something that hasn’t happened since 2004). This is making anything you have to pay in USD far too expensive. It also doesn’t help that my own financial situation isn’t in good shape either. I always save money for the blog server fees, but due my family’s financial situation, I have to take the money out of my personal savings to help my parents make the ends meet for our bills, buy food, and pitch in for my sister’s university tuition and rent. The fact the fall of the CAD dollar went beyond my expectations is making it even more complicated.

So that is why I am asking for your support.
The server host costs is charged annually:  120$ USD/year

120.00 USD = 166.872 CAD
US Dollar Canadian Dollar
1 USD = 1.39060 CAD 1 CAD = 0.719113 USD

Mid-market rates: 2016-01-04 15:44 UTC

We are due to renew our contract in May 2016

“Then why not switch to a server with CAD $$$?”

Well it’s not that simple. In fact, our old server host couldn’t even do the job right when it came down to transferring all the contents to a new server. I am not exaggerating when I tell you our present server host went above and beyond to get it right, it took a few days, but he made it happen. And much like moving a home, moving severs is a big job, and often times, if you’re not working with the right people, you are going to lose all if not most of your contents.

“If that’s the case: why not start fresh?”

For smaller blogs like us who are not as famous as other major anime blogs. Without the existing content, we lose exposure. Exposure is what brings traffic to the blog, and introduce readers like you to our content. It doesn’t matter how old it might be, as long as it still draws attention, it still serves the purpose to the public and to the blog.

To show our appreciation to everyone who makes a contribution, I will put your name on our special Honorary Donors page. Leave a note of what your pen-name/alias would like to be and I will add it to the list (I will not list the amount). You can also choose to be anonymous, by leaving no name or message. Anyone who had donated earlier in 2015 will be listed as anonymous.

Thank you,
Eva
