I’ve never been so excited about sculptures in my whole life ʕ•̀ω•́ʔ✧

Oh! and by the way, the title of this review is the true title of the episode, I’m not joking, it’s that long.

Enough caps lock charibo, let’s talk about the episode:

Yup there’s a dude on the left

Like every generic idol show, the first episode starts with what I guess is going to be the first public performance of our unexpected bunch of Idols. While their shadows are displayed on the big TV screen they start saying generic Animu boy stuff like: I will protect you (my favorite so far), ” call me passionate”, “I’ll show you the world” and ” GUUURRL UR SO BEAUTIFULʕ•͡દ•ʔ “.

The Uta no Prince Sama vibe is so strong in this introduction! If I remember correctly, the first episode of Uta no Prince Sama starts exactly the same way with light sticks (to party hard), screaming fan girls and a big giant screen displaying the idols’s shadows. The only difference is that instead of inventing funky catchphrases like the cool kids sekko boys gang did, the Uta no prince Sama crew was only saying ” Are you ready ?”… PFFF such originality… ʕ; •`ᴥ•´ʔ

BUUUT we can’t see the rest of the performance cuz that will probably be the final scene of the final episode so we will probably have to wait, even if I really wanted to hear their song too. It’s called “Sekko Kiss, Kiss…” after all, I can already feel the masterpiece ʕ→ᴥ←ʔ

The main heroine the show, is called Ishimoto Miki (22) and it’s her first day at the Holbein entertainment Inc, an idol company that used to work with humas but ” they got sick of workin’ with them” sooo, yeah, their new Star team is composed exclusively of sculptures guys.

Wow, such stone, many guys, much swagg, so fabulous

I’ll stop you right there

” eeeeh like WTF, Zey kant B idols B cuz  Zey R sculptures lol .Idols R meant 2 B Humans lol”

Okay Jean-Kévin, It’s nice of you to express how you feel and stuff but,

First of all that’s racist,

Secondly, who are you to judge them and their dreams ?

And finally Jean-Kévin, would you please care about your grammar and spelling ?

Jeeez. I shouldn’t be the only one making efforts about that !

Anyway, let’s continue.

On her first day at the Holbein Inc, she meets with Yanagisawa Hironori ( 38), the Chief Manager of the company who apparently strained his back for the seventh time. Both of them meet with the big Boss who asks Miki if she’s really ready to do the job cuz it’s going be tough. She explains him that she’s prepared and that she has the willpower and the stamina to do it, thanks to her studies. Indeed, she graduated from an Art school which instead of helping her developing any kid of artistic talent, forced her to draw sculptures and nothing else. I, personally know nothing about what is done in Art School so I can’t really say if it’s true or not. But I guess there’s some high chances for this to be true, some Art school might want to focus more on the technique rather than on imagination or artistic vision.

She got so sick of sculptures that she decided to quit the Art school and to look for a job in the Entertainment industry where rests, she thinks, another form of Art that moves people’s hearts.  Again, she’s quite right. But the main problem is that Miki thought she was applying to be the manager of a regular idol team composed by, I assume, Humans. Hopefully, she’s not as narrow minded as our dear Jean-Kévin and only hates sculptures because of her bad school experience. So, I hope she will be able to deal with her issues.

Charibo’s Impressions:

SEKKO  BOYS

SEKKO !

That’s my jam ◟ʕ´∀`ʔ◞

I was really waiting for this one and I wasn’t disappointed, it’s exactly my type of humor. The seiyuu cast is actually surprisingly nice and they are great singers. Even if I don’t know much about seiyuus and music, I have nothing to complain about. The ending song is really catchy and I would love to know the traduction of the lyrics. Since I heard the words ” body ” and “romantic” I assume this song is going to be a masterpiece.

I don’t know if this show is going to deal with big issues like accepting the difference and stuff like that. I guess that turning them into super-idols is going be difficult because, you know, they are still sculptures after all. So maybe they’ll have to deal with acceptance issues, like accepting each other differences and problems of this kind. But  maybe I’m wrong and it’s completely normal in their world so they won’t have that kind of problem. I don’t know. But I can’t wait for the next episode!  I’m rooting for Mars by the way, look at those muscles, DAYUMM!

So, if you like Idols and fucking nonsense, watch it.This show is only 8 minutes long, so that’s definitely worth it.

As someone who currently is in art school….this is so damn true. I’ve heard from someone else doing impressions on this show on another site and they said the same thing too. I’m not going to say art school full out kill creativity, its just that in a lot of classes, they’re ran the way the professors want to rather than have a straightforward curriculum. I would say about a few of my professors made is specifically what they wanted to see, and even in advanced classes where we’re supposed to have more freedom, the moment I step into territory that they aren’t personally a fan of they’ll stop me. But as for only drawing sculptures like she had to do…IDK, usually that would be for beginning drawing classes. Though in most cases everywhere its just still-lifes and then eventually nude models.
