So i’m just going under the assumption now that this show hates me as, while in the middle of this “journey to find his mom” we stop yet again to fight a random demon, but this time, it’s an episode focused around bitchface. Fan. Fucking. Tastic. I hate this character. I really really do. I do not like Tsunderes. Especially violent ones. They piss me off. Tora from Toradora? Go fuck yourself. Naru from love hina? SUPER go fuck yourself. I hate this archetype. And it wouldn’t be so bad if every single other girl in the series (even the episodic ones) weren’t more interesting than her…but they are. Ah fuck it I guess I better start. pfffff. okay.

So the episode starts up with the blond girl’s dad buying a creepy old Chinese mirror. She doesn’t like it but he talks about how it’s a great antique. Also he and her mother are going on a trip to Europe to leave her alone.

I just adore in anime how nonchalantly parents go "well, we're going off for an undisclosed amount of time. Have fun underage child living alone!"
I just adore in anime/Japan how nonchalantly parents go “well, we’re going off for an undisclosed amount of time. Have fun underage child living alone!”

So bitchface is acting lackluster because Ushio isn’t around. Of course she does the stereotypical “I don’t miss him!” but she’s a fucking idiot and everyone knows she does. Oh yeah! and we even get a cameo from those two characters from the painting episode.

I miss these guys. Can they replace bitchface instead?
I miss these guys. Can they replace bitchface instead?

So they head back to Ushio’s to see why he’s skipped so much school and his father covers for him by telling them that he went to go help a relative.

Blonde girl: he's off to go find his mother. Black haired girl. Go fuck yourself.
Blonde girl, he’s off to go find his mother. Black haired girl. Go fuck yourself.

So finally after about 8 minutes of that nonsense we cut back to Ushio and Tora (I know, novel concept, right?) and it turns out that they’re staying with the weasel demon guys from two episodes back, however they’re planning on leaving the next day. But, as Ushio is brushing his teeth he sees a vision in the water of bitchface being sad that something happened to blondie.

Damn shitty water reception

Worried he asks the weasel people what he can do. So they take him to the master of mirror demon who just so happens to conveniently live nearby. What a coinkidink! So they go to him and he tells them that he can take them to his friends through his mirror and save them but they have to hurry.

Man, that guy got the shaft on power picking day.
Man, that guy got the shaft on power picking day.

So to find out what happened Ushio watches in his mirror through a flashback. Then the girls have a flashback within that flashback to talk about how Ushio saved them from a dog one time or something stupid like that. Thank you flashbackception!

Finally at 16 and a half minutes in, Ushio FINALLY goes through the mirror arriving at blondies house. He tells bitchface he’ll save her but in his form, she doesn’t recognize him. So jumping in to the mirror, of course bitchface grabs on.

Wow...thank god YOU'RE here. You can do all of....um..NOTHING.
Wow…thank god YOU’RE here. You can do all of….um..NOTHING.

So at the 18 1/2 minute mark they FINALLY confront the demon. You see the problem with this episode? They basically made the villain inconsequential. You know this isn’t going to be a two parter or anything like that, so they have to beat the guy in like 2 minutes. Which they do in a single swipe.

(deadpan voice) Oh no. I was so worried they wouldn't be able to kill him.
(deadpan voice) Oh no. I was so worried they wouldn’t be able to kill him.

The episode ends with the two girls thinking they had a dream of Ushio saving them. The end.

This episode….was entirely pointless. Blondie already knows about Ushio and Tora, and Bitchface thinks it’s a dream. So what have we established with this? Absolutely nothing. In fact, even though it was teleportation, Ushio actually had to return home to save them, so he made even LESS progress than normal to Hokkaido.

On top of that, as you all know, I HATE bitchface. I do not like her nor will I ever despite how many fucking backstories they throw in my face. She’s incredibly annoying, her personality is a constipated ass, and I don’t even remotely like the scenes she’s around in. She’s like A more bitchy version of Misty from Pokemon… and I don’t even LIKE Misty from Pokemon.

The scenes with Blondie that I actually remotely care about are overshadowed by this bitch as she tries to take center stage.

I'm emotionally constipated which means I deserve to romance the main character, right?
I’m emotionally constipated which means I deserve to romance the main character, right?

Every time I see this bitch in an episode I just sigh because I know they’re going to try to focus on her like she’s important. Here’s a clue. I do not give a single shit about you. I want to see Ushio meet up with his mother and have wacky adventures that DON’T INVOLVE YOU.

By the time the villain even came around this episode I was uninterested because by that point i’d already had 15 minutes of bullshit from this bitch. She literally ruins every episode she’s in.

Go fuck yourself in a hole and die.

Episode 3/10
