Aoharu x Kikanjuu Episode 6: The Storm is Coming
A bullet a day keeps the doctor away.
Just like the title properly tells us, the storm is definitely coming. Just like Hotaru and the others at the TGC, I also didn’t expect Toy Gun Gun and Hoshishiro to go up against each other so suddenly in the first match. Considering that, and it was pretty obvious, Midori is the one Masamune wants to get revenge against, I thought the show would have saved their battle for the end to build up the tension, and just to show us with other opponents just how different matches in the TGC are. But we’re going to jump into the main action already, so they’re probably going to drag it out. This’ll only be the first round, and the team that loses in their round will be disqualified. So this is it…whoever loses is done. And going up against a 4-time champion team with a newbie by your side…the odds are really against them. Also, emotional trauma from Masamune.
Speaking of which. I don’t know what kind of relationship he and Midori have, but it’s pretty twisted. Midori made it sound like they were close, and the way he spoke to Masamune made it sound like he owned him or something, and it was really creepy (“Look me in the eye when talking to me.” “That’s a good boy.”). The event that happened at that one TGC really shook up Masamune, as he shook in place and could barely even speak. Yukimura stood in between to save Masamune, and poor Hotaru is standing there not getting what’s going on, not realizing until afterwards. Her sense of justice kicks in again, reassuring Yukimura that she’d treat Midori just like any other opponent, even though he was kind to her, and take him and his team down to get the revenge Masamune wants.
Hotaru planned this from the beginning. She was suffering from her internal dilemma about her gender but figured that if she’d help Masamune take down “the evil” from the TGC (who she now knows is Midori), then she’d proudly tell them that she’s really a girl and it’d be okay. I don’t think it’ll be so simple though. Especially when Midori dropped a hint, asking the boys if they changed their policy for recruiting members, the policy of not accepting girls into the team. And then he called out Hotaru and left. I don’t know if he’ll simply tell the boys about Hotaru or hurt her the same way they hurt the other girl, it can go either way. He’s scary. And his teammates are weird. And they literally wear army outfits akin to what the Nazis wore, so you just know they’re bad news.
