Aoharu x Kikanjuu Episode 3: It’ll Be Your Greatest Partner

Well I was completely surprised to learn in the first minute of the episode that Hotaru already payed off her debt. So that was that, and she went back to being a normal high schooler. But Hotaru realizes just how much she enjoys the thrills and fun from survival games. Yukimura sees this as well when he payed a visit to her school and really pushed her.

I knew Hotaru would soon come to love survival games even though she showed opposition at first. But I guess I just can’t believe it as much because we, the audience, only saw her play in one game where she was left behind by Yukimura. And that didn’t look fun. But offscreen the team played more and more games and Hotaru was able to pay off her debt while also falling in love with survival games. But we never got to actually see that, so that’s pretty weak to me. It was only done like this because this show is only one cour, so of course they’re going to have to cut that out and get the the very important thing that this show is going to be focusing on, which is the survival game tournament. So now with Hotaru officially back on Team Toy Gun Gun (looks like they never changed the name), she needs to get her own gear, which the second half consisted of.

Yukimura is probably the worst escort when going to Akihabara. He pulls out porn in public, which angers Hotaru. And then he almost dies for an H-game, so much that Hotaru actually left him behind so he can buy the game because she couldn’t stand him being creepy and pretending to be happy when he wasn’t.

So Hotaru heads off and meets up with someone Yukimura has a little spat with. DRAMA! Just what I was waiting for! You know, so far this show has been pretty tame, and more cute and funny. But the opening is so dramatic and intense I’ve been waiting for something like this to happen. I don’t know what Yukimura has against the handsome doctor, but it sure is something bad that he would go and punch him. So I’m looking forward to that. Also, I’m pretty sure Handsome Doctor-san figured out that Hotaru is actually a girl when he performed that body check on her. He’s probably going to blurt out her secret later on.

Also, I find it pretty amazing that even doctors are into this survival game thing. I mean that’s pretty cool, and it really means all kinds of people are into that stuff. And Handsome Doctor-san is really knowledgeable of this stuff as we saw when Hotaru asked for his help. I hope they have a cool and clever name that incorporates their job like….okay, I was going to say Trauma Team but that was obvious and stupid I’m sorry.

Let’s see how Hotaru fares in the test next week. Judging by the title of the episode, not good apparently.
