Imagine my disappointment when I realized this was going to be another episode about the Quartet Night member. They don’t interest me, they bore me instead. So here I was dreading the episode, but much to my surprise it wasn’t that boring. There was a certain charm about Ranmaru today that managed to keep me watching the episode till the very end despite the fact there were at times when I just wanted the episode done and over-with.  Up until this point, we have only known Ranmaru as a cool rocker, but there is a sweet side of him that we haven’t had the chance to see. Today we were able to see a gentler side of him, how ambitious he is when he strives to avoid repeating the same mistake from the past. It was hard to see him trying to let go his passion of being a Rock Artist and decline performing with his old band for a one night show because he knew he had commitments to prioritize for Quartet Night. He would put 120% of effort into his dance practices and stamina training in order to try and distract himself from his longing desire for Rock. After Ranmaru confessed his inner conflict with himself to Haruka, she was able to compose a song that highlighted who he is now, showing the importance of how being a rock bassist was just a stepping stone to his idol career with Quartet Night and it is an important part of him that he shouldn’t have to be forgotten. It was sad however to see he didn’t make it in time to perform with his old band, I would have liked to see it, but instead they showed-cased Ranmaru singing solo of his new song- which was awesome, I loved it a lot!

Unfortunately that is all I have to say for this week’s episode, I wasn’t kidding when I said I find the Quartet Night boys’ episode boring to watch. Honestly, I think it would be nice just to get it done and over-with with Reiji next week, just so that we can finally move forward because nothing really happened this season and we’re already half way through. There are only (presumably) five more episode left, I hope we actually get some plot development because I am not digging the present theme of the season.
