I love the way they show taking tests in this series. It’s never just scenes of them standing there and writing, as with much of the rest of the series being focused on assassination. The tests are always depicted and treated as a battle. Which is REALLY cool, i love how the problem monsters look and how each kid brings them down.
So as each test is taken, we see the battle between the Monsters, the A class and the E class. So how does the E class rank this year?

They make the top of the school in three subjects! However, they don’t make it in math, because Karma got cocky. [It’s okay baby, just put up with the octopus teasing you and bounce back and be amazing, I love you baby!] So since they got the top of their class in three subjects, they get to take out three of his tentacles. Also, since it’s three to two against the A class.
They also win that bet. I am SO mad that Asano beat out Karma though, that makes my blood boil. I HATE YOU, I HATE YOUR DAD…oh wait, you hate your Dad….I like you a little bit more.
Three tentacles doesn’t sound like it will put Koro-sensei at much of a disadvantage though. Good thing the students found a loop hole in the Home Ec part of the quiz in which FOUR students got a perfect score. So that’s seven tentacles to cut off, that might be a little more of a challenge.

My favorite scene of this episode though is the one between Asano and his father. It’s so tense and It makes me hate the Principal even MORE. Wow, could he be any more of a pain? Like, who talks about their own son that way? His eyes are animated really creepy and what the hell is with his head. It like, does an exorcist thing on me. I’m not entirely sure necks are supposed to turn like that!

do you even human?
do you even human?

So now, it’s summer vacation for the E class. With their victory at hand, a trip to an island, their Assassination looking more promising with seven tentacles cut off and an island surrounding Koro-sensei with his weakness to water. I just, i’m so proud of them for this. Each one of these students placed much higher in the school ranking.
They all stood at the end of the term ceremony with their heads held high, even as the others bashed on the E class. Even as they were insulted, they stood there smiling proudly.

I feel like this should of been where the wrapped up the mid-season or even ended this season. How can the end of this season hold a candle to the pride they had at this episode? Since this show has been Green lit for a second season, how will this one end? I honestly believe that summer break would of been a good place, but nope, we head on to next episode.
Which I assume will be the island trip. Well, we’ll have to see.

Ok, theres a few things I feel like i need to say. Not about this episode but about….
    – this was a rushed adaptation for about 2 months now – at first there was an even pacing with the manga and all the manga readers were speculating that season one will end right here. But then they started skipping some chapters and rushing through others, and their objective became clear: they wanted to end the first season with the island arc. And given the endcard, looks like the pacing will slow down again for the last episodes. If you’ve read about this series on MAL and other places, you should know that every manga reader has hiped the island arc to no end – but I myself am not really happy about this. I would have liked to see some of the development they skipped – it’s not like people that don’t like this anime will change their minds because of one “epic” finale.
