Nagisa may be cute and nice on the outside, but we’ve seen on a couple occasions that he’s hiding a different side of him underneath those pigtails. What Karasuma was able to sense was Nagisa’s bloodlust during their training session, and was even afraid of him and flipped him. He even chose him to go against Takaoka, and even had his expectations blown as how efficient Nagisa is when it comes to assassination. This episode was really good at delving a little deeper into Nagisa’s character. So far in the show he’s been in the background, usually narrating things. But this time, he was more as the main point, along with Karasuma and Takaoka. We don’t know the circumstances as to why Nagisa is in the E-Class, and I doubt it’s just bad grades that got him there. Nagisa mentioned that his own parents wouldn’t even look him in the eyes, like Karasuma does. So there’s something to this kid that I’m just so curious about. That bloodlust he keeps hidden always, I’m sure he’s been like that since being a child. I guess we didn’t get too deep with Nagisa, but we got some teases.

The main meat of this episode is with this man named Takaoka, who is one of Karasuma’s colleagues. He makes a visit, but announces that he’s taken Karasuma’s position as Phys. Ed. teacher, to lighten his load. This episode brings up the point with Karasuma’s relationship with the students, if it’s heartfelt or not. He’s always stand-offish, but he really does care about these students. Especially when Takaoka’s real personality appears.

Fooling everyone with a sweet “dad” demeanor, and buying them sweets, the next day is an absolute nightmare as they come to realize just how much of a sadist this man is. He cuts studies from their schedules and makes a 10-period day, with most of it training until 9pm. While in combat with his squadron, he instilled fear into his comrades with violence, and soon enough they followed his every order. It’s one thing being cruel against grown men, but to use the same tactics with students? This man is a monster, a pure monster. Once talking back to him, he kneed and slapped both Maeda and Kanzaki. The students comply, but right when one of them mentions Karasuma’s name, Takaoka approaches to punch her, until Karasuma stops him in time. Koro-sensei tries to stop him too as well. It’s then that he suggests the fight where Karasuma picks one of the students he’s trained to fight him, but with a real knife, and then we get that scene with Nagisa.

After his defeat, Takaoka stands and talks back to Nagisa, who politely tells him to get the hell out of there, and that he and the others like Karasuma much more. Just then the principal arrives, and in a really creepy and gross scene basically calls him out being a crappy teacher, and firing him on the spot. Takaoka runs off, the students celebrate, and they and Karasuma head out to hang out and eat.

Karasuma has worried the whole time whether he was doing enough to train these students, but even if he’s taking things slower, he’s enjoying his time there. Not gonna lie, it was a little hard watching this episode, mainly because I wanted to beat up this Takaoka guy. He was just terrible, and this is the only time I can agree that Principal Ass did something good in firing that guy. Koro-sensei took a backseat to this episode, which even one of the students pointed out. Still curious about him too. I wonder when Itona is coming back?

Nagisa leveled up. People should look him in the eye more if they want him to get better…
And Itona? Sooner than you think.
