Well, I can tell you right now I wasn’t expecting The Rolling Girls to end on an infuriating note so soon. The episode itself was boring with momentary interest that involve confirming suspicions. Nozomi suddenly finds herself traveling with a group of quirky individuals as she takes on Chiaya’s request of gathering the Moonlight Stones. They head to Tokyo thanks to Yukina’s suggestion but soon find themselves being mistaken as Dynamite Bombers who have been attacking and threatening the city. Thunderoad, the leader of Knights of the Twin Tower had unknowingly lost her Moonlight Stone and accused the gang of theft by assuming Chiaya’s moonlight stone was her own and being a member of Dynamite Bombers.
At first it sounds like it’s going to be a simple search for the stone. Well no, in fact while I give props to the writer for taking an original route, of having Thunderoad find the missing stone herself (thanks to the her Crow, who has been TRYING to tell her since the moment she lost it), I quickly became absolutely livid about how stupid and selfish this girl is. You know what she did next? Because she has to pay 200k of Comima for be beloved Prince Rick, (who is by the way only a life size figure), she TAKES CHIAYA’S STONE AND SELLS IT TO THE SECRETARY(?) OF TOKOROZAWA. That just makes me so mad, I just can’t with this girl. I can’t believe she had the nerve to do that.
But that leads back to what is essentially now the core plot of the show. President Misono Haruka of Tokorozawa is taking the initiative to buy off or rob the Moonlight stones from the Bests in exchange for their security for some sort of purpose. Haruka claims she isn’t much time nor are there enough, and we have seen her in a laboratory facility twice now where she is watching the Moonlight Stone be experiments or something of the sort. It was also confirmed today that Haruka is Chiaya’s mother, so the question of whether or not Chiaya is doing this for her mother’s sake either on her own on as an assigned mission is up in the air, but I called bullshit when Chiaya claimed her reason to search and collect the stones because they are pretty.
We actually learned today that the Moonlight Stone Masami had initially belonged to Nozomi. She had decided to give it to Masami who later became Maccha Green in order to protect her. An interesting pattern that has been laid-down so far is that the stones sometimes appear in front of the person who desires to becomes stronger to protect. It happened to Nozomi, it happened to Shigyo and I am sure it happened to Thunderoad. The bizarre part however is how Haruka claims she is the original owner when we know for a fact now, she wasn’t for neither Masami’s and Shigyo’s case (unless she can magically distribute them, but I have my doubts about that). Another puzzling revelation is how Haruka asks to hide the fact that Maccha Green is beyond recovery and send the stones first. I have no idea what she is referring to when she mentions sending the stones off, but hopefully we will be given an explanation next week.
On the extra note: Chiaya can speak Crow, and the of course Crow was telling them where it is but the girls didn’t acknowledge it therefore lost out on their opportunity of finding it themselves. Also if Chiaya can understand Crows I am willing to be she understands Birds in general.

I felt sorry for that girl Thunderoad was bidding against. That look as she turned away was one of genuine disappointment. Seriously Thunderoad, don’t bid on something unless you have the money for it!
