This is the moment we’ve been waiting for. This is where Yona’s true journey begins.

Hak is still fighting away the soldiers in haste to reach Yona, but the poison is finally starting to affect him, and his vision is becoming hazy, his movements becoming worse by the second. One of the fire soldiers slashes at Hak while on the edge of the cliff, and he falls off. Luckily, he manages to hold onto the edge. Yona rushes off, when nasty dude, aka Tae-jun because I finally remembered his name, grabs Yona’s hair to not let her get away. AND THIS IS IT. THIS IS THE MOMENT SHE BASICALLY SAID FUCK YOU.

Yona grabbed Tae-jun’s sword, and cut off her hair.

This girl was going to do anything to save Hak, so she cut off her hair. Tae-jun is left in place with shock (and a handful of her hair), watching Yona run away with his sword. One of the soldiers is about to kill Hak, when Yona runs at him and swings the sword at him. Of course, Yona isn’t powerful at all. She’s a dainty girl and she’s never been in combat in her life. But the two soldiers were too baffled by Yona’s actions and the expression on her face that they didn’t attack, and Tae-jun told them not to. Yona tries to lift Hak up, and when the soldiers are about to pry her off of him, Yona slips, and she and Hak fall off of the cliff.

any6.30Tae-jun is in denial, because surviving that fall is nearly impossible, but it takes him awhile to hit him. They’re both dead. On the night before Soo-won’s coronation, Tae-jun pays him a visit and tells Soo-won the news of Yona and Hak’s deaths, while also giving him her hair as proof. Tae-jun had wanted to be punished, for saying he was the one that killed Yona, but Soo-won just let him rest at the castle. You can see that Soo-won was really rattled when hearing this. He thought about Yona a lot, and I think that he probably has feelings for her. But then he was also thinking about Hak, too, and all their childhood memories. So somewhere deep down, he probably regrets his actions, but even so, he had this all planned out from the start, and he knew he wouldn’t have Hak and Yona by his side. He reached this day, his coronation, because those two weren’t with him. Soo-won has his coronation, and now he’s the new king, and everyone loves him. He wants to restore the kingdom of Kouka to what it once was, and from the sounds of it, with an iron fist. Don’t know how that’s going to go…

But of course, our lovely main pair is not dead. They had landed at the bottom by the water, to be discovered by a boy named Yun. Yona wakes up, bandaged but not badly hurt. As for Hak, he’s in a much worse state. Yun had taken the poison out from Hak, but the poor guy has cuts and bruises, and broken ribs. Yun pretty much guessed that Hak protected Yona from the fall and basically took the fall for her. But, he’s still alive. Yun asks why he’s so devoted to her, and asks if they’re lovers and Yona’s like “Nah.” AND I’M LIKE YAH. I just ship them so bad and it looked like they were gonna kiss in the preview, but yeah I don’t think they will. Boo.

The shit he does for you, Yona…

Anyway, some guy in muddy clothes and hair covering his face enters their little shack. He’s clumsy and silly and emotional, and he’s also the priest Yona had been searching for. Huh. His name is Ik-su, and he already knows Yona’s identity because “the gods told him”, and said they were looking for him. And this scrawny, silly, man who I thought would be old as hell makes his appearance!

I always find myself clapping for either Yona or Hak when I’m watching this, and I just love it! Even when she knew she wasn’t strong enough, Yona still went out and tried to save Hak. She didn’t want to see anymore people dying in front of her, and she’s just so…cool. But yeah, Ik-su surprised me. I thought he would be a wise old guy, but hey this is shoujo so of course he’s a weird cute guy…well, I’m guessing under that hair he’s cute.

    YONA WAS SO COOL AUGH

And Yoon is awesome!! hahah I was so excited to finally see him, and he lived up to his name as a self-proclaimed pretty boy. Haha love that kid. xD

Also, I’ve recently been questioning how I feel towards Soo Won. Naturally I hate him since he’s portrayed as the bad guy who kills MC’s father, but I’ve just been thinking that maybe he’s going to actually do some good for this kingdom? I’m not sure if you (Berry) are watching Akame ga Kill!, but the Night Raid in AgK is a lot like Soo Won: killing government officials to bring about change. Except in AgK, they’re portrayed as the good guys. Yeah that was random, but it’s just a thought process I’ve been wrestling with. o.O But in the end, I’ll be happy as long as Hak and Yona both live happily ever after. TOGETHER. <3

Oh man don’t get me started. Soo-won has been showing emotions where I question myself. The way he keeps recalling memories with Yona and Hak, his expression when he found out Yona “died”, the fact he even said he doubts himself sometimes…I’m supposed to hate him, but these guys are trying to make me feel bad for him AND I DON’T WANT TO. But it makes me think that yeah maybe he’s really going to bring good to the country, he doesn’t really seem like the tyrannical type. But he went about being king the wrong way…damn him.

No I’m not watching Akame ga Kill!, but that’s interesting. Though it’s pretty early to say if it’ll be totally similar, since we see Soo-won as the antagonist.
