OMFG – We’re so close to the end! ;~;

Wow. Wow. WOOOOOW.
Okay, this episode was pretty intense. Despite the fact that I viewed the last episode as Snoresville – It was totally worth. I take it back. I’m glad I got some build up for this, man. I’d have to say that my only complain is: The Censorship. There were some bits of this episode that could have benefited from the gore to add to the overall atmosphere and to demonstrate the emotions of some of the characters in pivotal points of their development.

Members of Anteiku have already decided that they’re gonna rescue Kaneki no matter what. Last epsisode, Yoshimura hit us with this weird news that Tsukiyama was gonna be joining the gang – EVERYBODY opposed it, especially Toka. He explained that Tsukiyama is strong as hell & they need that kind of power in an ally, regardless of his creepy, “I wanna eat Kaneki” behavior – Plus Yomo is watching him like a hawk. With the CCG preparing for attack, Yoshimura plans to use the activity to his advantage because they won’t be directly targeted from either side (Ghoul or CCG) and can disguise themselves to infiltrate; Even Uta is coming!

As Kaneki is being held hostage, I notice that wherever he is – It doesn’t seem to be accessable from where the war is taking place and it’s definitely not in plain sight. Really interested in how that is gonna play out in the last episode. Jason (Yamori) is torturing the hell out of Kaneki. When they showed the wrench that he got from Dr.Fueguchi in a previous episde, I expected it be some cool thing happening but it was a dud. However, he pulled something more twisted out: RC Inhibition Fluid (which suppresses the kagune activity) in a syringe… to be administered THROUGH HIS EYE. Though Banjo works under Jason, he wants to help Kaneki get out whenever there is an opening. He found out that Rize was dead and told Kaneki that he appreciated him not telling him the news to spare his feelings, so I guess I was wrong about that part in the last episode – Kaneki showing his kindness potentially benefit him.

Before everything goes down and they move into the Ghoul hideout, there’s a discussion about the identity of Yamori and how he came to be called the Jason. Long story short: He had been arrested by the CCG, beaten and tortured much like the way he has been torturing Kaneki in his lair. To cope with the abuse, he created a separate identity – Jason – and broke out of the torture chamber. I’m not sure if it was due to bad translation or wording (maybe even because I haven’t read too much of the manga) but I was always under the assumption that “Jason” referred to a ghoul class and Yamori was simply in a class of his own, but I’m glad they took a minute to elaborate and clarify. It’s definitely foreshadowing for the white-haired Kaneki we keep seeing in the opening.

I love how the Ghouls were using Kagune shields and scopes to out gunned the CCG, then Suzuya randomly decides to use Marude’s motorcycle to bust into the mall and slay every ghoul in sight before the bike even touched the ground. IT WAS SOOOOO COOL. I don’t wanna root for the CCG but Suzuya is the best person on the force, from his weirdness to his agility imo. I was HOLLERING when Marude started crying after his motorcycle exploded lololol

Still hate Amon’s character but, I’m so damn glad they finally made him look cool. Using the quinque that Mado left for him after his death, he frickin’ went APE SHIT on the Bin Brothers. His bond with Mado was strong enough to make him push through a fight with TWO S-Ranked ghouls on his own and I feel a bit proud. I didn’t like how he initially tried to avenge the death of Mado by attacking Toka but, oh well.

Speaking of which – WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH AYATO?
I looooooove his kagune, his mask, his “IDGAF” attitude and fighting style but I am beyond curious about what destroyed his relationship with Toka. How can you hate your own sister soooo much?! He takes shots at her – deadly shots – whenever she’s in view.

The episode ends with the appearance of The One-Eyed Owl facing the CCG on the roof. Clearly he’s the most powerful amongst the ghouls & the fight shall be EPIC.

I feel like the pacing was a bit fast. There’s so many things from The One Eyed Owl, Toka/Ayato, and White-Haired Kaneki – Can they pull this off with ONE episode left?

    This episode was defintely awesome, despite the problem that the anime has (censorship.. censorship everywhere). There are some scenes that i cant remember happening in the manga but it was fine. What was missing here was a little “introduction” of what the Aogiri Tree actually is, that there are ppl who are opposed to that org. (banjo for example) and what happens to them instead of throwing us in mids of action out of nowhere.. probably because they are out of episodes but ok..

    Kinda hope they explain in the next episode why ayato is like he is (probably going to happen because -spoiler- . Actually he is a nice guy, thats all there is to say (scene at anteiku before kaneki was captured important here too)

    Kinda sad that Nishio is nothing more than a punching ball e.e
