I had already knew ahead of time we were in for a filler episode this week, but it is unfortunate to say that it turned out a lot more dull than I anticipated it to be. Given how the bad the situation was in Hawaii, I certainly expected a bit more from the Aloha Precures, especially for their final cleansing blow. The resolution to their problem was SO underwhelming that I couldn’t help but feel disappointed. It was crystal clear that the key reason why the Aloha Precures had not been able to put up a fight against Momere until is because they lost sight of what they were trying to protect and how the two of them share that powerful feeling of wanting to revert their beloved island back to it’s original and sunny form. We had Precure Sunset who was acting too hasty and uncooperative with her sister, and then Precure Wave who was always jumping in front to shield her from the incoming attacks and has terrible timing when it comes to delivering the second hit. Well the joke is on them. Sunset was reckless when it came to offense and Wave was reckless when it came to defense (how many times has she been punched in the face while covering for her sister?).
It appears that the girls will finally get their major power-upgrade, but will they achieve acquiring the Shining Make Dresser’s power within next week’s episode? It certainly looks like it is going to be a tedious process to awaken the Axia box, which is said to be harboring the power of the said Shining Make Dresser. Isn’t it ironic though? Darkness was sealed within that very box, and here they are trying to acquire something to defeat the darkness from the same box. Anyhow, I will tell you right now, the first thing that the first thing that crossed my mind when Blue made the reveal about the Shining Make Dresser, is that Dark Mirror we have been given glimpses of from time to time. We have never seen him in action, we have only seen him speaking with Queen Mirage, but that was quite a while ago. Another thing that caught my attention was how Blue mentioned the girls have matured enough to acquire the power. It makes me wonder if perhaps there is still some darkness/evil within the Axia box that will pick out the girls’ or/and anyone who is at the scene, insecurities. I imagine more or less that there must be a risk involved, or who knows- that said risk may have to do with the Phantom Empire trying to get their hands on it for themselves to either prevent the girls from powering up or for their own purposes.
