{Disclaimer: I am SO sorry this has taken so long to come out, I’ve been trying to get screen shots for this review and everything I do falls through. I’ll post more as I get them. Once again, SO sorry for the delay…I did manage to get one without subtitles, so enjoy this picture of Stein.}

So woah, it’s been so long since I’ve had a chance to catch up on this I’ve totally forgotten what is coming up. So let’s dive straight in blind to the future! I do hope we get more of this witch plot.

Well I wish for plot and it jumps straight into my lap as the episode opens up with the witch looking at the DWMA in the distance. Sid, Clay and Akane discuss the witch incidents and are trying to narrow own who the witch in charge of everything is. As they wrap up their meeting they hear the girls lost out in the hallway.

The girls wander in and wonder what Clay and Akane are doing there, Akane covers quickly saying that Sid asked them to buy him some snacks for him. It is so weird for me to see him as a human for this long, he was a zombie by the fourth or fifth episode of the original.

They begin discussing Tsugumi’s inability to pick a partner, well if she picked one. We wouldn’t have much of a series now would we? Unless we want to switch the main characters to Akane and Clay and have them witch hunting. That would make for a good anime. Akane offers to take them up to their study session.

We cut to the Death cafe with Liz and Patty, they’re talking to the store owner. He keeps telling Liz horridly morbid jokes. The girls come in, followed by Kim and Jackie.{what they called her for short.}

The study session begins.

Everything is busy at the cafe’ and everyone heads back to work. Though by the time they get changed, everything is cleared out. Well, I guess they get to goof off?

Sees like there is a Flee Market in the square that Anya really wants to attend with Tsugumi. Meme came along too. The witch comes and stops across from the Eternal Feather, oh dear. I have a bad feeling.

Oh look, Soul and Maka. They’re selling books. Maka gives Tsugumi a book for free, Soul doesn’t seem to mind the lack of money. He’s just glad to be rid of a book.

The witch is selling jewelry and Eternal Feather buys a ring. The magic is worked. Oh my goodness, now she’s attacking everyone at the Market. Anya has a flashback of the last time she saw this. Mala runs in to save Anya.

It’s time for some Maka-senpai action! The witch is using her as a test, she tells her to kill herself!

Holy…..oh my god. Did they really just? I don’t believe they just. Did they really kill her? In normal Soul Eater i’d believe this in an instant but this has been such a light hearted series that I’m just not sure if they’d actually do this. On to episode 8!

Tsugumi who passed out at the end of the last episode wakes up in the hospital wing where Eternal Feather is being operated on. Stien is the one doing the operation. I’m sure she’ll be fine, not turned into a zombie or anything.

You know that moment the opening totally clashes with the current tone of the series? This is that moment. It has the same light hearted opening it always has and we’re waiting to be sure someone isn’t going to die. I haven’t felt this much of a disconnect between song and anime since “Happy People” kicked up at the end of an episode of Bleach.

Now that the horridly upbeat opening is over, Clay and Akane are questioning Soul and Maka. Akane presents them with a picture of the witch, Soul says he might of seen her. They begin discussing the details of her case, Soul wants them to spill so it can improve his grade. Akane wants to know what he’s paying. Oh god, this might be the funniest thing I’ve seen so far in this series.

They walk in to see Eternal Feather with a bolt in her head like Stein’s, the girls freak out and say she would of been better off as a zombie. Stein starts considering it. My side, I can’t even. This is too funny. Oh god, the bolt is fake!

However, somehow the braid she cut off is back. It’s not just back even, it’s alive! Then her head falls off. Somehow, I think Stein is enjoying screwing with these poor girls.

In the end, Eternal Feather is alright. Though she might not be leaving the hospital for some time. Stein says that there is nothing wrong with her any longer and she should be returned to her normal life soon.

She returns to the dorms. Jackie stumbles over to them and says that her and Kim have broken up! The horror! Meme pulls out a wind chime like it will help things. Well things got deep and dark for all of about half an episode and that’s the most we got.

I wonder what Kim is upto, why did she leave her partner? You know, that would be way more interesting then this pointless training that Tsugumi is going through. I wonder if it’s because Kim is a witch.

Both Meme and Anya both show off their strengths by wielding Tsugumi to try to help her make a choice. I DON’T CARE, JUST PICK ONE OF THEM FOR THE LOVE OF KITTENS. HONESTLY, IF I HAD TO CHOSE, I’D TAKE ANYA! AT LEAST SHE’S NOT FORGETTING THINGS EVERY FIVE SECONDS! Which, I may mention is not an endearing character trait! It’s annoying! I HATE MEME, I CAN’T STAND HER. JUST PICK THE SMART ONE ALREADY!

Anyway, they give her until Halloween  to choose a partner between the two of them. That’s the end of episode 8. I care about every plot…except Tsugumi, Meme and Anya. I am really interested in the witch plot, Clay and Akane fighting against her. Why they are part of central intel and friends with Soul and Maka while hiding out in the NOT! class. I care about Kim and what she’s up to, how her witch powers are affecting her choices. Then there is the main three….nope, don’t give a damn.

Anyway, episode 9. Pumpkins..and a lot of open shirt Meme…-screams internally-

It took twenty minutes, TWENTY MINUTES into episode 9 for anything interesting to happen. If you care about pumpkins or baseball at all…the rest of the episode is for you. At twenty minutes it cuts to Clay, Akane and Sid. Talking about the stall in the witch case. There is also a rash of robberies at the DWMA.

Clay and Akane can’t compete in the battle of the EAT students, so they’ll dress up instead. Then there is this screen cap that makes me ship them…if only just a bit. He’s blushing! Look at how cute this is!

Well this episode was used for nothing more then drawing us closer to Halloween. This episode had NO point other then to be a time skip. NOTHING, GOOD, HAPPENED. In the last minute, we see the witch. Episode 9, totally pointless. However, it’s leading up to the events of 10 which should be less pointless.

Well, thank goodness that’s over. Episode 10 should have a decent amount of plot, so maybe i’ll find something to care about.
