Diablo 1SHE IS SOOO CUUUUTE!! THE GUYS IN THIS ARE SO HOOOOT! WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIIIIIN!?

Okay. Enough with the caps and drawl. I was so overwhelmed by this episode – and I was so excited that the new episode aired. As Brothers Conflict is coming to an end, Diabolik came at the right time to fill the void.

The episode started really solemn; timed pangs from a piano, an out the window view of nature – trees, the clouds. I half-expected the heroine, Yui Komori, to start narrating. Otherwise, I like how the tone and atmosphere of the anime was set.

She gets out the car and goes up to the big, iron gates; gazing at the mansion surrounded by lush vegetation and forests of trees on either sides. She goes up the pathway to the door and, about to reach for the doorknob, the door opens on its own. There are flashes of lightening – which I half-expected.

Diablo 2The first bish vampire she meets is Ayato. He was sleeping on the couch, and she felt his skin and we know vampire flesh is cold and, thinking he was dead, she pressed her ear to his chest to check his heartbeat. There was none. In shock, she got her phone out to phone the hospital and he snatched her phone and got up slowly.

“Damn, you’re noisy,” he said. Then told her she should be quiet because it’s not her house.

So the first thing I notice about Ayato, he’s aggressive and doesn’t try to make a good first impression – or one at all. He grabbed her and threw her beneath him and was about to bite her when Reiji came in.

As expected from a gorgeous, lovely, sexy man in glasses; he tried to get a hold of the situation – find out who she is, why she was sent there; so on and so forth. Basically, after that, the other vampire brothers are introduced.

Diablo 4There is Kanato, the one with the teddy bear who I thought would have been more innocent than he actually is. Raito, a cool…pimp-ish kind of character, who likes calling Yui a bitch. Real friendly, that Raito. I like Ayato’s name for her better: Pancake. One of them should call her Kitten.

Diablo 5Then there’s Subaru. Very aggressive but beautiful. I just realized his tattered shirt. Says so much about his character – even more than his harsh tone and rough body language. But you’re still beautiful licks screen

You better be listening to ShinEE!

Shu, the oldest brother, and the one who knew about Yui coming to live there but was too nonchalant to mention it to Reiji. I guess he and Reiji are the same when it comes to level-headedness but I think he transcends that. He is the enlightened one.

After the meet and greet, things started to get really weird for Yui and they freaked her out with their gang-rape threat. She’s human, warm-blooded and the perfect treat. They all want a taste. I’m sure both Shu and Reiji can ignore it, but that doesn’t ease the realization that these are blood-hungry, insatiable males and Ayato has already proclaimed himself to be her First EVERYTHING.

She ran away from them but just to tease her, they kept teleporting to where she was to freak her out. A door that had chains and a padlock on it mysteriously shattered and she went into that room; which turned out to be the attic.

Diablo 8Outside the glass doors was a mysterious woman who, after looking at Yui, must have put her in some state of shock because her heart began beating faster and her chest felt tight. She found her dad’s diary and an old photo of her as a baby, her dad holding her in his arms. In the background, it seems he was standing in front of the same mansion she’s now at.

She read a few lines from his diary and found out that she is actually, not his daughter. The brothers then came in and decided to scare her some more, threatening that if she left; she was as good as dead.

Diablo 7

And that was the end of the episode – after some other chatter.

WELL!! I loved the first episode. I was a little shocked that it was only fifteen minutes in length; actually fourteen minutes when you exclude the credits. I was robbed of my extra five minutes of watching them torture her so sweetly!!

Seriously though, I like the characters, their different personalities. I like Yui. I like her a lot. I loved that as each character was introduced, an instant feel was given as to what sort of personality each has. Diabolik Lovers doesn’t hide – in the least – what it’s going to be about. And thank the gods I didn’t see any crazy saliva when all that tongue action was going on. If that had been present, it would be more than enough to make me drop it. I had too much of it in Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge to try and stomach it for another series.

And the art. I really like it. Although I was thinking they’d be similar in design to what the Amnesia characters were like. That would have been so perfect but I still like how the characters look.

Anyway, that beind said. Lovely first episode. Lovely bishies. Lovely femal protagonist. Except the butler. He’s so creepy. He just comes out of the shadows, without a word, then slides right back into the comfort of the darkness.

Why was Yui sent there? I think she might be a half-vampire. Just like Yuki in Vampire Knight. She didn’t come to the realization that she was a vampire until much later when Kaname awakened that power.

I’ll most definitely keep watching this and blogging about it.

Don’t let me down Diablo!!

I loved how they pulled off the atmosphere and the ost. Their voice was hot XD Yes, who is Yui~ one of biggest mystery of the series. For the guys, It’s kind of refreshing from the usual sweet/kind otome protagonist. I like how Yui is more reactive than normal otome heroine.

I wasn’t expecting her to be as expressive as she was in this episode, it surprised me and that’s what made me really like her so it’s comforting that I won’t get bored with her character – or the vampires ^-^
Maybe more paranormal themes should be used for these otome adaptations xD

I cant believe people complained! This episode was amazing! I was on the edge of my seat. Its filling my BC void.
SUBARU IS THE ANGRIER VERSION OF TSUBAKI ASAHINA <3
Why only 15 mins? STILL WATCHING THOUGH!

Well I’m guessing with the presence of possible BDSM themes, it wouldn’t suit some tastes. And some people just don’t like Otome anime adaptations.
Heh, and Subaru in BroCon has some anger issues too so they’re similar xD

Lol the artists for Diabolik and Amnesia are different, so how could their char. designs be the same? Diabolik is by Satoi and Amnesia is by Hanamura Mai. Well, but that’s referring to the original beautiful drawings of the games. But still, even the main character designers for the animes are different. Anw I’m glad the Diabolik anime char. designs didn’t ruin the original that much, because Amnesia anime char. designs were really horrible.

And omg I can’t believe you people are comparing BroCon with Diabolik! Brocon is Otomate (pure dreamy airhead heroine, happy sweet school life story), and this is Rejet (Do-S chars who won’t hesitate to insult and tear the heroine apart, and they almost always have a hidden (Do-S/yandere) side to their personality). Well, technically Diabolik is a RejetxOtomate collaboration, but really, it’s more Rejet than Otomate.

Anyway, my darling Yuuki does a superb job as Kanato in Diabolik ^^ I think this is really the series that shows just how good an actor he’s become, because he scared the shit out of me (and almost everyone from the comments I read about Kanato) in all of the Diabolik drama CDs. Reiji and Laito are not that scary though, even though I love the seiyuus, but really, they just can’t bring out the scary vibe that the rest of the cast brings. Subaru is…cute sometimes, and Shuu may seem nonchalant at first, but they’re all Do-S. Just make no mistake about this as you go into the show. If you bear a glimpse of hope that Shuu or Reiji may help you or anything, you’re very wrong. They’re just as eager to tear you apart, make you scream and cry, and suck your blood. (≧▽≦)
