“I had accepted my death… but I hadn’t thought about my family.”

Synopsis: Kazuhito is caught in a trap and captured. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself in his room at Sumitani Hall, wrapped in a mat and accompanied by Madoka… who appears to be acting strangely… Could Madoka be the killer behind the slasher incident?! Before long, Natsuno saves Kazuhito before he is forced to taste fear, but…

Impression:

Another emotional episode with flares of brilliant comedy… yum. I think we’ve all been wondering since episode one: ‘how are Harumi’s family doing?’. We were never really ever even introduced to them and when Harumi is revived he doesn’t even think about them once (on screen anyway… a part from perhaps that one time). It’s not so much that I wanted to see them as it is that I felt we needed to see them so that Harumi could firstly, develop as a character as he comes to terms with the ‘loss’ of his family and, secondly, so that the story could progress naturally. Wouldn’t you want to see you family again if you died? Isn’t that one of the ‘romantic’ cliches associated with death and rebirth? It’s natural curiosity. Sure, spending your days with your favorite other would be great and tracking down criminals also sounds fun but… they’re your family, y’know? Ain’t no escaping those familial bonds (as Natsuno well knows…)

If my food was glowing red I wouldn’t be that afraid of it… it’s not really awesome…?

And so it is revealed that Madoka can’t actually hear Harumi and his only companion in life is still Natsuno. I’ve thought about it and this is the conclusion I’ve come to. Harumi is only staying by Natsuno’s side because without her he is truly alone. Now, now, settle down, I realize that it doesn’t take a genius to figure that out, but if you really look at it in depth… well, it’s quite depressing. When presented with the chance to leave Natsuno’s side (and live with creepy Madoka) Harumi tries everything (and yes, I know it was done for comedic affect) to do so. He bores her with his sob story; ‘she hurts me with her scissors’ and ‘she’s flat chested’, these are the words of someone who wants to remain in the home of Natsuno.

But if we look at it from Natsuno’s perspective, she went out of her way to save him. Now maybe she’s only saving him out of guilt, I mean, she is the reason he’s dead after all, but I’d like to think that perhaps there’s more to it. That being said, I defiantly not going down the bestiality route (although Wanko to Kurasou would care to disagree)… And what was up with that ‘I guess that makes her my sister in law’ line? Firstly, it was hilarious, and secondly, gotta love Natsuno and her cute blushing. She so cute. So very werry berry cute.

What… the f*ck.

Am I the only one who finds Suzuna really (really) creepy? The wobbly upper lip… those vibrant pink eyes… that oddly placed hair parting… so creepy. That aside… let’s talk about one line… one very important line:

“I can’t believe you’re ganging up on me”

Ganging up? So she can hear Harumi? What the hell… now I’m not going to get my hopes up because A. last time I did it just turned out that Madoka was crazy and I wouldn’t be surprised if this grey haired creep was also crazy, and B. it might just be a translation error. Then again, it might also be a subtle hint of thing to come. Now I’m not saying that this is a definite plot point but… it is interesting to ponder is it not? And, if it is true, than what does this mean? What are the conditions for being able to be heard by Harumi? Is everything in this show to do with the Deadly Sins series and that people that have read them?!

One has to wonder how many panty shots this small dog has seen…

To conclude… shit is going down! Probably… with Harumi being kidnapped (again… you know, you would have thought that they would have seen this coming…?) it can only mean one thing… war! Next episode is going to another funny one, another funny one with elements of drama mixed in. It’s a good mix and it works well… I just hope that the series can keep it up.
