“Oh no, Ruri-nee’s broken…”

Pic909Summary

Kyousuke is rather taken aback at Kuroneko’s sudden confession, but agrees to give it some thought before answering her after their post-Comiket party. With some subtle insistence from Kirino and Manami, Kyousuke makes sure to take things seriously, and finally accepts Kuroneko’s confession. But as both of them are amateurs to dating, they’ll have to work their way through their fair share of awkward moments…

Pic860It’s the Kuroneko arc! Man, that confession scene was tense. You don’t see Kuroneko looking embarrassed all too often (especially when she spends a lot of her time duking it out with Kirino) but despite all the “curse” metaphors she tried using, you can tell that she does actually love Kyousuke – and was noticeably hurt by his initial lack of a response. She even tried to make him fall for her by listing the benefits of being her boyfriend, though Kyousuke should already be overjoyed at having someone like Kuroneko confess to him. Lucky bastard. I’m actually glad that Kyousuke didn’t give an answer immediately (or worse, do something retarded like proclaiming his undying love for Kirino) – it proves that Kyousuke is taking Kuroneko’s confession seriously, and is really putting some proper thought into it instead of doing something rash.

Pic895I was worried about Kirino’s reaction and the countless ways it might have been a problem – but I’ve got a suspicion she’s perfectly aware of what’s going on. After Kyousuke went on last week about opposing any boyfriend Kirino might want to have, it’s kinda hypocritical that he’s gone and gotten himself a girlfriend after spouting all of that. Still, he did say that he can’t do anything to stop them and could only cry should Kirino and her boyfriend both be happy with each other – and I suppose that’s what Kirino is seeing with Kuroneko’s feelings towards Kyousuke. Even Manami is urging him to think hard before he gives his answer 😀

Kyousuke can be trusted to do the right thing in the end! Behold, ladies and gentlemen, for we are finally on the Kuroneko route! I loved how they both acted in really similar ways after Kyousuke returned her feelings – I remember that scene a few episodes ago where Kyousuke was hugging his pillow and thinking about Kuroneko like a lovestruck little girl, and now we have Kuroneko, who tried to keep calm but ended up acting just like Kyousuke did xD We haven’t really delved into proper romance with this show before, so all the awkward moments (and I’m sure there will be many more) were really refreshing to watch, especially after last week’s emotional drama had me tense by the end. It was pretty cute to see them both sitting there looking awkward after Kyousuke accidentally steps on a landmine after breaching the topic of boobs with Kuroneko – a girl who, just the day before had only been his little sister’s friend. It’s good that they’re taking steps by doing stuff Kuroneko’s written down in her notebook…but then what happens once stuff runs out? I’m desperately hoping we never stray off this path and return to having Kirino involved once more – even with Kyousuke freely acknowledging his siscon tendencies, I hope no-one tries to pull anything stupid that would make an incest ending plausible.

Like saying she’s adopted, or something X_X
